LONDON BROIL
Never BBQ one before, looking for a good way to do it. Any and all ideas will be greatly app. Thanks
|
I like it simply -- marinate it in some soy sauce...(throw it in a big ziploc bag, throw in some soy sauce, and some crushed garlic) Let it marinate for a few hours.
Then before throwing it on the grill, sprinkle generously with fresh cracked black pepper and some salt (I am not a salt user generally, but it makes beef so much better) I also like my beef practically still moo'ing, but London Broil, I like medium rare. |
This just popped into my head - my mom also used to serve it with a melted butter/Dijon mustard sauce on the side -- that I seem to recall being mighty tasty.
Side dishes you might want to have corn on the cob, from the grill, or baked taters from teh grill. |
3/4 c. vegetable oil
1/3 c. soy sauce 3 tbsp. honey 3 tbsp. red wine vinegar 2 tsp. ground ginger 1 green onion, chopped 1 lg. garlic cloves, crushed 1 (1 1/2 lb.) flank steak or London broil, trimmed and scored combine first 7 ingredients - place meat in large marinade dish and pour marinade over - cover and refrigerate overnight - turning steak twice. prepare barbecue - grill meat to desired doneness - 4 to 5 minutes per side for rare (best for london broil) - slice into thin strips across grain and serve |
I typically just use some garlic salt and fresh coarse ground pepper, and throw it on the grill. make sure you DO NOT over cook it and like Hanxter said cut it into thin strips across the grain.

Damn Hanxter, that sounds good. I'm going to try that out.

Tomato juice
Orange juice Thyme, fresh Salt Pepper Olive oil Combine in a bowl, marinate your flank overnight and cook. |
Marinate at least two hours in Cheap Italian dressing then 'que to your liking. Great stuff!!!

Remember to slice it against the grain. Sometimes I forget, and it makes a huge difference in the texture.
