Boca Burgers

Has anyone ever tried these?

Are they any good?

I was told to try them because of a diet I am on but I wanted an opinion before I buy them...They don't look real good in the box.

Thanks for any opinions!

Not to damn them with faint praise, but as far as veggie burgers go, they are not bad. I would encourage the use of ketchup.....and however you cook them, make sure that they are well-done. Underdone veggie burgers are not so good.

boca burgers (at least the vegan ones) are probably the best fake burgers on the market... at least in my opinion.. but everyone likes different things.. so you should try them.. and maybe try another brand too!

the boca burgers are a lot beter than garden burgers.
they taste yummy on the gril, ad make sure you dress them up like a regular hamburger. They aren't terribly juicy, but really good. This is comming from a born and raised meat eater.

boca is as close as you'll find to a mcdonald's hamburger. there are other types of veggie burgers that are very good, but they are good without tasting like hamburger meat.

Don't expect the taste of a quality cut of ground round, or even an imitation. this is the taste of some adolescent with pimples, sweaty from the greasy fast food air, flipping a patty onto a sesame seed bun. sometime that's just what you want, though.

I used to like them, but I've switched over to Gardenburgers.

Agreed on the "don't under-cook them" bit! I find Gardenburgers are good with onions and such on them. mmmmm....

My girlfriend is vegetarian so I made these for us once or twice. As a meat-eater I don't think they compare to real hamburgers. But if you don't compare them, they are very good. The first time I undercooked them and they were kinda bad but she told me to make some more and cook them longer and those turned out just fine.

Boca is not a horrible substitute for real hamburgers, although I recommend adding a little bacon and cheese to it...

I like the Boca burgers with the works. Also try the chicken-less, spicy chicken sangwich and the smoked sausage. Both with mustard, relish, pickles ect........ Lost 20 lbs since Feb.

Isn't that defeating the purpose of a veggy burger?

I prefer Morningstar Farm's burgers. They have this pizza burger that's amazing. I also really love their mushroom lover's burger. Boca Burgers just seem like texturized protein to me, no flavor.

boca burgers rock. they have a good consistancy and great taste. some mustard, provolone or muenster, spinach (instead of lettuce) on toasted bread makes a tasty snack/meal.

I agree with those that say the Boca's aren't a perfect substitute for hamburger, but with some non-fat fixin's (ketchup, dijon, onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, garlic powder, pepper and a little Lawry's seasoned salt (or even barbeque sauce) - the texture is right so that you don't really miss the hamburger. A really good way to cut calories, fat and overall improve your health. I've eaten them for years, and and I've gotten to the point I just don't miss the hamburger at all.

Boca Burgers rock. I don't use them as a burger though. What I do is put them in a tortilla, add a tiny bit of cheese and some Tapatio....boom, a 300 calorie or so "ground beef" burrito.

I find Boca Burgers repulsive, but there are many who disagree. It might be a matter of getting used to the difference.

I know this is an old thread but...

Canadians should consider trying LICKS Nature Burgers, They sell them frozen now in the grocery store. Also one could consider making their own vegan burgers...

This is going to sound nasty to some but don't knock it - its not real beef remember - Try garnishing the boca burger with penut butter, chopped penuts, bean sprouts and spinnach is a yummy and healthy alternative to the typical sugary garnishes like relish and ketchup

You could also cut them in half and put them in tortilla shell with some 'taco' garnishes like salsa and lettuce which is REALLY quick and sort of fun.

If you like well done burgers, then they aren't a bad substitute... but if you like a burger medium rare then they're ok but no substitute for a real burger stuffed with blue cheese and smothered with mushrooms on a fresh kaiser roll...

Boca burgers need copious amounts of salsa to make them tasty...
