I assert that certain things should be in
Chili and certain other things should NOT
be in Chili. Celery, Carrots, Potatoes, Mushrooms, and Pickles DO NOT BELONG
IN CHILI. To put them in there means
that what you are making is a thick soup
and not chili.

That being said I will share the most
basic recipe straight from my book...
which (as you can see) is the Arizona
Cookbook.

Simply turn to page 60 and we find the
recipes for Chili con Carne. I hate to do
it to all you Vegitarians out there but
meatless chili is really bean soup.

great recipe Astro, but what i didn't realise was that one could make an entire South American country from dry red chilies, flour, fat, garlic, onions salt and oregano.

mind-blowing.

gotta barge in here folks - i placed 3rd in the regionals...

i skipped the cinnamon and cranked it with thai peppers...
