I'll eat just about anything
Rocky mountain oysters, no problem. Armadillo...it actually does taste like chicken. I've even eaten live worms on a bet and they weren't to bad. What I can't eat are beets, cranberry sauce, and fruit cake. I gag at the smell of them and the last time someone tricked me into eating fruitcake I actually threw up on the spot and I was sober. I have no idea why I can't eat these things.

Okra.
My father could never figure out why half of our okra plants would fail every year... I stomped on them when they started to come up. Only half of them, though... Eating okra was better than an asskicking from Sarge.

It's very interesting to hear about people's strange dislikes of certain foods.
Myself, I can eat anything, although I prefer to keep the canned and boxed, prepackaged food to a minimum. I love to cook, and try new foods. However, I am married to a very picky eater so I usually prepare separate meals for my wife and myself. I used to try to get her to eat different foods but, it just wasn't worth the trouble. There is one food I can think of that is the most disgusting thing I have ever eaten. I went to visit my mother once and she served me Tuna Helper. I ate it and thanked her for the meal because I would never be rude to my mom and tell her that it was gross and disgusting. I just hope that she doesn't think that I really loved it and wants to feed it to me again the next time I see her. |

Eggs, can't stand the smell, the look, anything. I tried em once when I was a kid and it tasted like tinfoil.
Also cottage cheese. I got stabbed in the leg once when I was a kid (long dumb story) and I looked down at my leg and inside is what appeared to be cottage cheese aka my chubby little leg fat... then the blood came pouring out.... haven't touched the stuff since.

Anything with aspartame (possibly not spelled correctly) in it, the junky stuff meant to replace sugar often found in "diet" foods.
I grabbed a yogurt off the cooler shelf at the shop next to my office, didn't look to carefully at the label. Two bites into it I was certain something was not right. Checked the expiry date, then noticed the "sweetened with aspar - yuk" note on the container. I am sorry that this is apparently a common substitute for sugar for diabetics - so sorry, blek! |

The only thing that really makes me throw up as soon it enters my mouth is Rhubarb, (or pieplant). Man, that is nasty stuff. Tried it serveral times, since i eat almost everything (not that i actually líke everything but okay...). But i just had to face it: it just comes out as a natural reaction or something like that...

brussel sprouts, hands down. but once, i had a horrible experience with a microwave vegetarian lasagna from Costco, it was green, orange and white, and i puked it up for like an hour. that was like 10 years ago, and even today, if i see a color combination of orange, green and white, i get queasy.

I can't believe no one mentioned creamed veggies. Creamed corn or creamed peas are the most disgusting concoctions ever invented. I also have an aversion to tuna casserole with crumbled potato chips on top. Man! just thinking of that is making my stomach turn. Oh and one more. Those pre packaged pizza pockets. I don't know what the hell they use for dough in those things but the smell when they come out of the oven/microwave is just atrocious. YUCK!!!!!!!!

One of things I've always found odd about my own eating habits is that I hate tomatoes by themselves. I love tomato sauce, ketchup, even tomato slices in sandwiches/burgers, but I can't eat, say a piece of tomato in a greek salad.
Other Stuff: Fish - And I worked at red lobster for 3 years (I like shellfish though) Eggs - The smell turns my stomach Olives Mushrooms Another odd thing is there are tons of foods I probably wouldn't eat unless I prepared them myself, but then again, I'm the best cook I know |
