Hot Wings
Ok so HOT WINGS are my comfort food:)
I can eat them three or for times a week. I order 25 that's my starting number. I order them extra hot but not nuclear. ( I want to taste them! ):D With lots of blue cheese and a few sticks of celery. How about you? How do you like them? |
I like to order mine medium cause then they come crispy. I have them bring me some catatonic sauce on the side to dip them into. Yum, going to get some tonite.
|
I like them Hot!
|
I get hot ones too but I order them with the sauce on the side so I can dip them myself.
|
I go for ultra-nuclear, but then i'm a freak :)
|
The problem is so many different places have different temps, Hooters famous for wings, is not that hot, going to try some other chains to see where they stand
|
The hotter the better for me. I found a great recipe on foodtv.com from Emeril. I will post it when I have a few extra minutes.
|
No words better than Tabasco when it comes to orderin' "hot" wings....
Scare's 'em in Nottingham Hooter's. Haha... |
We have a wing-place here with lots of fun flavors. Of course the best is Atomic, I can't get enough. I like to get some Atomic and some other flavor, and mix the sauces together. Makes for interesting combinations.
Tabasco isn't hot enough! Really. |
I like to deep fry them, then sprinkle them with Old Bay(hot seasoning). Blue cheese on the side. Getting hungry thinking about it.
|
Buffalo Wild Wings (I think that's what the place is called) has some really good sauces for their wings and even serves chicken legs the same way. The legs are good if you want a little more meat. Yummm....buffalo chicken....
|
I usually ask for the hottest ones that they've got............and then their bottle of tabasco. They look at me kinda funny when they get the bottle back and it's half gone ;)
|
The only problem with alot of the wings you get (and with dumping tobasco all over them) is that it just ends up being too much of a vinegar flavor. Anyone have a really good wing recipe they're willing to post for ultra nuclear wings? Would be a great addition to a summer cook out.

the hot oils are really the answer , some of the asian hot chili oils are something else. my wife marinades hers in soya sauce and white pepper ,one more, along with the soya and white pepper you might also try barbados hot pepper sauce, just a couple of teaspoons to start you can always try more later.the barbados hot sauce can cause you some grief the next day,its also great with kd.another you might try is fiery thai dipping sauce ,the stuff here in ontario is available at loblaws or yig.its awesome as a kick to clamato juice put a blob in and stir .
|
chicken tenders in wings sauce is much more satisifying in my opinion. much easier to eat and you dont get all that skin with it.
|
I like them hot, but not nuclear. Frank's is a real good wing sauce, not as much vinegar as Tobasco. Follow the recipe on the bottle for some good "base" wings, then supplement with some more fiery sauces to add heat.
|
Cholula sauce......hot but sweet, not vinegary. Take some wing sections (drummies and drummettes for you wing experts) dip in flour (very light coating).....deep fry until floating on top.....dump into a tupperware container with Cholula hot sauce....cover and shake vigorously.....must be vigorously or else wont work........eat
Very easy and very good and very cheap and your stomach will protest.........gaurohnteed! |

Another vote for "Hot" here. I can enjoy nuclear, but I have to be in the mood. My wife prefers "Wimpy" so we don't get wings too much.
Also agree about Cholula, better than the vinegar taste of Tobasco. I like Tobasco, but there are better choices. The Tabasco Chipotle version is really good. |
I like hot.
I am always somewhat amused by the nuclear people though. You can't taste the wing! Its like eating hot sauce out the bottle. Somehow I think alot of people equate it with manhood. I'm not sure why. |
Cholula is good, but I prefer Tapatio. It's a little bit hotter and it just has a better taste IMO. As far as wings go, I like them hot, nuclear just kills any taste the wings might have ever had.

It is Buffalo Wild Wings or BW3's or Bdubs and they something like 25 different sauces for their wings. All of them so good.... Mmmm... |
I'll be at a bw3's in July. back in the old hood of Morgantown Wva
they are one of the best.. |
Hot hot hot please! One of my favorite restaurants used to serve Hell Wings....name says it all!
|
If I go to someplace like Hooters then,
medium & naked. with ranch dressing. At this place, I think it's called Wild Wings, I could be wrong. *brain fart* I had some great ones with "honey & garlic" But the best one are my own, I used to work at a place that specializes in wings. When I do that, I use my own secret recipe, Hot, with lots of blue cheese. |
the spicier the better
|
Like em hot. Nuclear gives me the hiccups for some reason...
|
Hot and Sweet. BBQ Chipotle at the local sports bar is fantastic.
|
I had buffalo hot shrimp tonight. I about forgot about them
they were really tastey and loved every bite. Very very lite breading and the same hot wing sause I love served with blue cheese. Super yummy for a treat, could still eat 5 lbs. |
ever try letting the wings soak in Mrs Renfro's Habenaro Salsa
for about 20 minutes before grilling--great stuff |
Hot is the ONLY way to go! Try 'Louisiana' Brand Hot Sauce or Tabasco's Chipotle Sauce.
|
I love my hot wings very hot "Nuclear" hence the name HOT wings...YAY

I've got suppositories that burn more than louisiana brand hot sauce! I use chipotle when I want a really smokey heat added. :) |
Hot is all relative, hot at one place may be mild at another... I love to make my own, nothing tastes as good!
|
A big thank you to n1ck31 I tried the Buffalo pizza
I'm glad it was a pan crust cause it was hot enough to bring beads of sweat to my neck. Also, a few hiccups. The cheese and crust put some of the flame out.:) :D  I think I'll open a new restaurant:thumbsup: |
I like Medium normally...but sometimes I like it hot.
|
Originally from Upstate and then going to school in Buffalo -- I know a thing or two about hot wings. I like them hot, but still tolerable -- which means tears down the cheek with a pleasant flame in throughout the mouth.
I used to go out with my father once a week and grab a couple of beers with him -- we would sit there and eat hot wings and people would walk by and stare in amazment -- here these two grown men were sitting around with tears flowing down their cheeks -- pretty funny now that I sit back and recall the experience. |
Mmmm, I've been on the atkins diet so hot wings have become y new snack of choice. Some franks red hot, a stick of butter, liberal ammounts of cayanne pepper, vinegar, a little sugar twin and a dash of chili powder, marinate overnight and bake 'em up the next day, oh so good.
|
I've hit most of the local places that serve wings, but lacking a place (other than Hooters) that specializes in hot wings, I've been sorely disappointed for the most part. But, franks hot sauce is by far my favorite flavor (we do buffalo crawfish at my seafood house [http://www.pappasseafood.com] #4 in Humble, Texas). I don't like the consistency of the crawfish themselves, but we make some mean buffalo chicken strips. I can't call them "hot wings" because the franks we use is mild, but it let's you appreciate the flavor.
