I was hearing "skate", anyways that was hilarious when Jamie started barkin out orders and sayin that people were complainin about the food and how it took too long and at the end he takes the students out to a empty resturant

I don't see how anyone can dislike A Cook's Tour (not Chef's Tour). Tony Bourdain is an awesome chef who has a real passion for his food and it shows through his books and his food, if you've ever been to Brasserie Les Halles. I love his humour and overall behavior.

I like Good Eats because of Alton Brown. He just presents a good show, in an easy to understand, light hearted way. I have yet to pick up his book.

Last, but definitely not least, is Iron Chef. Classic.

Rachael Ray's 30 minutes meals is a good show. You can get her stuff in books or at FoodTV.com. Everything we have prepared of her's has turned out pretty darn good and we have made many dishes several times.

Iron Chef is fun to watch, but for truly usefull info I have to go with "Good Eats". It's the only tv show of any kind that I buy on DVD. All right, I bought Monty Python's flying circus too. But that's all!

I watch a lot of the cooking shows. I cant really say any particular cook is my favorite. When going for recipes they have some that I would love to try and then those that I wouldnt touch with a 10 foot fork.
I agree with Frankx I loved Justin Wilson's Cajun Cooking. It was always a fun show to watch specially with his measuring. Just add a little of this Louisanna Red Hot. His little was about 2 tablespoons full I think...lol

I am a big fan of the Naked Chef, especially the old ones. I think the show is interesting, and he explains his methods just well enough that I can usually recreate his dishes.

I also like Iron Chef. Has anybody seen the new American version? It's just as campy as the original.

I like Rachael Ray's cookbooks, but her tv persona is a bit too perky for my taste. My favorite foodnetwork show is definitely A Cook's Tour. I admit it, I have a crush on Tony Bourdain. And Les Halles is excellent. Steak Frites...mmm...

I have the digital recorder catch Good Eats. Alton Brown is funny and I love the scientific explanations. I also enjoy that much of it is taped at stores around here.

I feel fortunate when I catch Nigella. Actually I would like to catch her.

Recently I started taping Everyday Italian. After all, Giada De Laurentiis would stimulate anyone's appetite. I also like some of the food she does. I am surprised that no one has mentioned her. Her cadence can be distracting. Sometimes she can make a comma seem like a paragraph break, but I can overlook that.

I also really like watching the shows with Julia and Jaques cooking together. They always seem to be having so much fun.

looks like i found this thread a few months late... ah well.

i'll definitely echo the sentiments of those who enjoy the cooking-lady-triumvirate (<-- drunk spelling): racheal ray, nigella, and giada. i've made a number of racheal ray's dishes, and they've turned out damn good. nigella's don't really tempt me, but that doesn't stop me from watching. for italian, giada's fun to watch, but mario batali is the way to go. that man is damn knowledgable about the italian geography, culture, and cuisine - despite his large-red-hairedness.

I watch Emeril Live mostly because it's entertaining but I have used his recipe for Pork Chops in Sweet Potato Gravy many times and it's VERY good. I also like Food 911 because I'm usually a crisis in the kitchen :-D

Emeril, but a few years ago before he got big, and had his "live show" I don't watch him anymore. Though his resturaunts in New Orleans are fantastic.

Good Eats rocks. I love learning why things work the way they do. That show has taught me so much it's amazing.

My other fav is Everyday Italian. Giada DeLaurentis is hot...

Another vote for Iron Chef, even if it's 10 different dishes of the same food.

Justin Wilson is another one. Very entertaining.

And another one was one Food Network was with a lady named Padma Lakshmi. I could cared less about the food whe was making, just a stunning beauty. Near fell out of my chair when I found out she was dating Salman Rushdie.
