Favorite fruit?
Myself, I love a nice crisp Fuji apple or a just-turned-ripe banana. What about you?
Fresh rasberries, slightly tart, chilled and washed... I could eat buckets of them
Oh and freshly cut chilled pineapple
All of them. I am more then willing to try new fruits and have yet to to not like one. Well maybe cranberries but its more the texture of them.
peaches, nectarines, plums, pears, pineapple
not fave but good: bannanas, oranges, apples |
kiwi
Charles Nelson Riley, Elton John, Rock Hudson, George Michael, ... oh man.... I'm sorry!
warm strawberrys, or cold red grapes. also love tomatoes if you consider those a fruit, but they have to be sun warmed. apples oranges star fruit mangos and peaches
all stone fruits
good small strawberries. not crappy ones that just look good. small champagne grapes mango (i eat it over the sink and just let the juice drip) |
I forgot to mention mandarin oranges. I eat a box of those every 2 days in the season.
I like most fruits but I hate mangoes and pomegranets.
raspberries...........................................................
I love fruit. Cherries, nectarines, apples, bananas and the heavenly papaya are the fruits I eat most often.
Fresh golden pineapple and frozen green grapes.
Strawberries and cherries...YUMMMMMMMMM
mmmmmmmmm . . . . mangos . . . . definitely mangos
Sweet and ripe Strawberries at room temperature. Must be fresh and juicy. I also love a good ripe plum.
Mineola Tangelos -- sweet and tart at the same time. Very intense.
Ripe honeydew melons. (Maybe not technically fruit, but close). Most people have not had a truly ripe honeydrew, partly because you have a window of about three days between not-quite-ripe and overripe. (And for some reason some never ripen, just dry up -- maybe picked too soon.) But if you hit that short window of opportunity, honeydews are sweet as nectar. Strawberries, of course. We live in a strawberry growing area and get them both ripe and cheap down at the farmer's market. Tomatoes. Is a fruit -- if kept at room temperature and naturally ripened. If they don't have a smell, they're no good no matter how good they look. The varietals are much better than what you get at most markets. Most yellow tomatoes are as sweet as any "normal fruit". A crisp, tart Fuji. It's the king. If I can't get one, I'll go Granny Smith. And if none of the crisp-textured apples are around, I'll take Gravenstein (the applesauce apple), which is a little mushy but supreme in flavor. Red flame grapes. Not just sweet, but flavorful. Avocados. They are a fruit, actually. Hass avocadoes (the black guys) are supreme for guacamole because they have the most oil. But greenskin avocados like the Pinkerton, the Gwen, and especially the Reed are marvelous eating avocados, good for salads and sandwiches with much better taste, IMHO, than the Haas. They don't bruise up so easily, either. (Stay away from Fuerte and Bacon avocados if you've got a choice, those are the stringier, drier ones.) The Reed is my all-time favorate avocado -- big as a softball, great taste, almost never bruises up. |
Lots and lots of Kiwi and Bananas
mmmmm fruit.... I love peaches and mangos. Also fiji apples are rally good.
And I know tomatoes are fruit but most people don't consider them that. I could eat tomatoes all day every day and never get tired of them. There are so many different kinds that I could never get sick of them. |
Fresh raspberries and strawberrys
I've always loved oranges. The smaller ones usually have a lot more flavor.
Asian Pears. If I can't find good ones, then I'll make do with Fuji Apples.
Granny Smith Apples or Persimmons! They're good whether ripe and squishy like a tomato or hard and crunchy like an apple.
red apples
and thing sour or semi-sour, lemons, limes, kiwi.
Cantaloupe...yummy,
and Bananas. Quite possibly the worlds most perfect food. bear |
Oranges and blueberries (which I pick myself)
It's got to be a durian....
http://www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~durian/img/durian.jpg Its a BIG green thorny fruit, with large creamy flesh inside, and large seeds. VERY pungent aroma. It's actually banned on the subway here, due to its smell, which isnt bad, but very strong and lingering. This is either your favorite fruit, or something you wouldnt touch with a ten foot pole. |
I've NEVER seen that before. Maybe i'm just blind.
Durians are a really big deal in Asia, but fairly obscure in the U.S. A Chinese friend once told me that it's hard to get a good one here. Dimbulb, where are you writing from.
I know alot of fruits and really don't like any of em, i just put up with them.
wow
tough question. iŽll have to list a few here... mangos pineapple and lychees but i think that grapes would have to be my fav simply because they are not just great by themselves, or with cheese, but when made into a good wine, then they are the greatest. |
Georgia peaches,
Louisiana strawberries, Black plums |
UGH! Durians smell so bad! The stench is enough to prevent me from eating one. Quite a handy defense mechanism for a fruit (not to mention and the spikes!). Apparently it's not enough to keep people away. =P
Kiwi fruit, though it makes me kinda allergic... how lame is that? :((
Mangos. It's best if you just peel off their leathery skin and eat them directly. The flesh tastes like... mangos. They're very juicy and have a citric acid tinge to them.
lichi nuts, but they have a musky aftertaste
I just had something called a yamamomo.
Japanese 'Mountain Peach'. Yum! Does anyone know where I could import these things from? |
I like all kinds of fruit, but pineapple is probably my favorite. As long as it is fresh.
Grapes are really good. And fresh peaches. And firm unbruised bananas. And .......... |
