Large sweet bean dish?

I once had a Chinese dish in a restaurant that appeared to be made with fava beans (or some other large species). There were two or three flavors of beans. The beans were all separate (non-sticky) and a little sweet. They were served at room temperature. I can't seem to find out the name of that dish, much less the recipe for it. Does anyone remember seeing this?

I'm at a loss. I hope someone else has an answer for you.

Was it azuki beans (also known as red beans)?

They are often used in desserts.

A cold bean dish I make uses any variety of beans you want and it usually has a definite sweet/sour character unless I skip the sweet ingredients.

The simplest version takes your favorite can of baked beans (which can have a touch of sweetness due to sugar, ketchup, bbq sauce type ingredients) to which I add a large chopped onion and rice vinegar to taste, mix, then let it sit in the frig marinating for at least a few hours, better overnight. I eat it cold or I prefer at room temp.

I've also used a seven bean chili recipe I have and then add the onion and rice vinegar to end up with a "fancier" version of the above.
