Your Favorite Frozen Treats
As the weather warms up, I find myself craving some cold treats, especially after a hard workout. My SO prefers ice cream, but it tends to be a little heavy for me, so I usually go for frozen fruit, sorbet, or a smoothie.
What are some of your favorite frozen treats and flavors of those treats? Mine are: Frozen strawberries Coconut sorbet Raspberry sorbet Orange popsicles Ice water (yes, I am that weird - preferably crushed ice, so I can crunch it easily) I don't like ice cream that much, but I recently discovered ginger-flavored ice cream and it is GREAT. I also love a local brand's coconut almond chip ice cream, but both in extreme moderation. What kind of cold treats do you enjoy when the weather is warm? |

Ginger flavored ice cream? I totally have to try that.
I love, love, love frozen lemonade. So very yummy. |
lately I have a taste for passion fruit water ice ...the only one I can find is Rita's. Just the right combo of tangy fruitiness and light sweetness, with smoothly fine ice texture.
On the local seashore boardwalks they sell shaved ice which is about as smooth of an ice consistency as I've ever tasted, and they sell a "tiger's blood" flavor which is a combination of strawberry, lemon, ...not sure what else but I really like it. |
I don't eat frozen things often because I have sensitive teeth, but I do enjoy an ice cream sandwich or orange creamsicle every now and then. I can take or leave ice cream outside of sandwich form and I really don't like regular popsicles, slushees, snow cones and the like.

I love ice cream. LOVE ice cream.
I can't have it in the house because I will eat it all. It calls to me. I must resist. |
I, too, love ice cream and shouldn't keep it in the house.
Rita's flavored ices are also quite good. |
Frozen Pink Champagne is good.
It turns into a slushy, you drink it kinda fast and it gives a killer buzz. |
Simply Raspberry Lemonade that has been in a freezer long enough to turn to a consistent slush. If I can get it Hawaiian shaved ice is at the top of my list.
