Most of my fav's were already mentioned. Anything from Belgium (lambics, Corsendonk, Chimay), Young's Double Chocolate Stout, Troeg's Hop-back (it's a local Micro brewery and it is an extremely hoppy ale), Franzikaner Hefe, Hackor-Schorr Dunkle.

But I have started to make my own beer and I'm having fun drinking and experimenting with that.

A good homebrew, hands down is best! The family porter kicks ass! One version calls for 2lbs. brown sugar and I only had about 1lb. so I goosed it up with some local honey, man did that shit blow you away! Tasted great too!

shiner kicks ass! the fact that is sold among imports outside of texas is a further reminder that texas is still considered by many to be a nation unto itself.

after years of being a beer snob, i am starting to appreciate bud more and more. ice cold in longnecks or in a can.

but i love pale ales.... bass and sierra nevada are my favs. pilsners are good too.

anyone ever heard of a Turkish beer called Efes? It's damn tasty. There is also a beer from the Dominican Republic called Presidente that is awesome. the bummer is that these are all cheap beers in their native states but are sold as premium imports stateside.

Chimay is fantastic! I don't know if I would go as far and say that it is my favorite, but it does reach high marks with me. I would be fine with just Chimay on a desert island too!

Close runner up is Anderson Valley Boont Ale!

I used to enjoy the Chili Beer which had a nice hot pepper inside each bottle.

I like the IPA style, Summit is my local brewery and theirs is pretty darned good. Easily one of my all time favorites.

I just tried a beer called Hazed and Confused out of Oregon I think, but I don't recall the brewery. Darned good, it is dry hopped so it has the hop nose and flavor without a ton of bitterness, so it isn't as harsh as an IPA for the non-IPA lover, but gives a good hop flavor.

Other favorites, Guiness in Ireland. Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout in the parking lot at a Dead show, and on a hot hot summer day, a good hefeweizen with lemon. Nothing says refreshing like that!!!

Not really (at all) old enough to have my way with the brewpubs, but Allagash White is excellent. Guiness is really good, and I once tried some of a friend's Belgian, I think it was Alexander Rodenbach, which was amazing, although very fruity and cherry-flavored.

I like all stouts. I don't like Natural Lite. A guy here brews a garlic beer - not as bad as it sounds.

I'm not necessarily a beer conneseur, and seeing as I've yet to try most english brews, german ales/bachs and such, I can't say with a lot of certainty what my favorite would be. I do like Amber Bach/Ziegenbach, but I prefer Corona Extra with a lime wedge. Smooth, decent head, and much preferrable to any of the light beers or anything made by Anheiser-Busch Breweries.

German beer is the best. It is Belgium. Bar none. The little Flemish dudes got the secrets from the French about good wine and from the Germans, good beer. Put the ideas together and some cold weather and board monks and you have the best beer ever brewed.

The poor dutch seem to have gotten their skills from the english or something. Not so great.

My absolute favorite is ceres strong ale, but I've neve been able to find it outside of italy. Other than that, I'm a dark beer man, guiness, killian's Irish red, etc.

Mmmmm. Mmmmm. Beer. I love beers of all sorts, I brew beer as a pastime. I think one of the best beers you can buy today is a Bridgeport IPA. Especially if you can find it on tap. If you can't find any decent beers you can always go with the classic Guiness. Low in fat, but it fills you up, makes a good breakfast eh?
