Most of my fav's were already mentioned. Anything from Belgium (lambics, Corsendonk, Chimay), Young's Double Chocolate Stout, Troeg's Hop-back (it's a local Micro brewery and it is an extremely hoppy ale), Franzikaner Hefe, Hackor-Schorr Dunkle.
But I have started to make my own beer and I'm having fun drinking and experimenting with that. |
Yuengling's Lager is like manna from heaven.
|
Well when I drink beer I'm planning on getting shit-faced and there is no better way to get stewed in a hurry than good old Molson XXX. MMMM 7.3% alcohol goodness. Of course Mike's hard lemonade is quicker still but we're talking beer so.....
|
Stella Artois. Beeeeyoootiful!
|
A good homebrew, hands down is best! The family porter kicks ass! One version calls for 2lbs. brown sugar and I only had about 1lb. so I goosed it up with some local honey, man did that shit blow you away! Tasted great too!
Favorite imports: Newcastle Bass Murphy's Harps Wartsteiners(sp?) Micobrews: Anchor Steam Porter(a must try!) Goes down like silk! Kalamazoo Stout The tap beers in Europe are incredible! But my absolute favorite beer is my next one! I've never tried this but it gives me an idea for my next batch of homebrew! I had a hempen ale once. It was really good. I can't remember the name of it.
I've been drinking Corsendonk all night. yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee |
My favorite beer is the one somebody else paid for.
|
i loved Stella Artois like crazy untill i drank way to much of it and fell through my best friends christmas tree, after that is Kilcanney(sp?)
|
i dont like beer but i enjoy:
Yuengling, Becks, Corona (w/lime). my choices for malt liquor are: Olde English Steel Reserve* *(much higher alcohol content) |
Anything Canadien, but I think
http://www.beer.com/ca/img/be/bad/be_labattbluenew.jpg is still my favorite. |
Red Cap (love the stubbies)
Corona (good for Summer) Maudit and Trois Pistols most Belgian beers (not Stella though) Guiness (less calories than a glass of skim milk!) Grasshopper (another good one for the summer) |
Yeungling....oh yes.
|
I like Bellhaven, but I drink cheap yellow beer from tall-boy cans.
|
Bud light and occasionally Rolling rock and Killigans Irish Red
|

after years of being a beer snob, i am starting to appreciate bud more and more. ice cold in longnecks or in a can. but i love pale ales.... bass and sierra nevada are my favs. pilsners are good too. anyone ever heard of a Turkish beer called Efes? It's damn tasty. There is also a beer from the Dominican Republic called Presidente that is awesome. the bummer is that these are all cheap beers in their native states but are sold as premium imports stateside. |
damn, i meant to pick up some yuengling when i was in pittsburgh last weekend. i can't find it here in nowhereville, OH.
/off to buy some sierra nevada pale ale to satisfy the beer urge this thread gave me |
Hoegaerden, Duvel, and all six of the beers our beloved monks brew (chimay, westmalle, ...)
|
Favorite beer is made by a monk
Chimay is fantastic! I don't know if I would go as far and say that it is my favorite, but it does reach high marks with me. I would be fine with just Chimay on a desert island too!
Close runner up is Anderson Valley Boont Ale! I used to enjoy the Chili Beer which had a nice hot pepper inside each bottle. Check out: http://www.chimay.be/ |

I like the IPA style, Summit is my local brewery and theirs is pretty darned good. Easily one of my all time favorites.
I just tried a beer called Hazed and Confused out of Oregon I think, but I don't recall the brewery. Darned good, it is dry hopped so it has the hop nose and flavor without a ton of bitterness, so it isn't as harsh as an IPA for the non-IPA lover, but gives a good hop flavor. Other favorites, Guiness in Ireland. Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout in the parking lot at a Dead show, and on a hot hot summer day, a good hefeweizen with lemon. Nothing says refreshing like that!!! |
Hazed & Confused sounds interesting.
I forgot about another faovite of mine, Hemp Ale! I have to be in the right mood for it but when I am, it is the best! |
Not really (at all) old enough to have my way with the brewpubs, but Allagash White is excellent. Guiness is really good, and I once tried some of a friend's Belgian, I think it was Alexander Rodenbach, which was amazing, although very fruity and cherry-flavored.
|
I like all stouts. I don't like Natural Lite. A guy here brews a garlic beer - not as bad as it sounds.
|
I'm not necessarily a beer conneseur, and seeing as I've yet to try most english brews, german ales/bachs and such, I can't say with a lot of certainty what my favorite would be. I do like Amber Bach/Ziegenbach, but I prefer Corona Extra with a lime wedge. Smooth, decent head, and much preferrable to any of the light beers or anything made by Anheiser-Busch Breweries.
|
Holsten Festbock, a tasty dessert beer, pretty strong with an almost coffee like taste to it.
Can't go wrong with Corona though either |
I don't really like beer, but I do like Bacardi silver O3.
They are really good. |
I love Corona Extra with lime.
Guiness also. but i can't believe that noone mentioned Fat Tire http://www.angelfire.com/tv2/stinkynutz/fattire2.jpg |
Australians drink more beer than the rest of the world combined and we forgot the question
|
Busch Light, Lone Star, ahh, im joking, i prefer coor's
|
Sam Adams
Pete's Wicked Stuttgarter Hof/cristal weizen Guiness <-----Beer Snob here |
I have to disargree with people saying that
German beer is the best. It is Belgium. Bar none. The little Flemish dudes got the secrets from the French about good wine and from the Germans, good beer. Put the ideas together and some cold weather and board monks and you have the best beer ever brewed.
The poor dutch seem to have gotten their skills from the english or something. Not so great. |
Tetley's or Bass Ale
|
I occasionally enjoy a local brew called Abita Turbo Dog, but I tend to like the dark imports like Guinness, rather than the domestic stuff.
|
Can't drink Coors. For some reason I get an instant headache from a few sips.
|
My desire for corporate responsibility switched my domestic choice from Coors heavy to Rolling Rock. I have strongly different than Coors. If I have the cash and it's on tap, I prefer a Guinness.
|
Alexander Keiths, Guinness, New Castle, hoegaarden. All great beers that have fueled great times!
|
In all depends... If I'm traveling and stop at a micro brew I'll try theirs.. And what I'm doing. hanging at the local bar or yard work its Bud.
|
Yes stinkynutz that is a good beer had it when I was in colorado. They don't have it here in Maine. Yet.
|
beer
My absolute favorite is ceres strong ale, but I've neve been able to find it outside of italy. Other than that, I'm a dark beer man, guiness, killian's Irish red, etc.
|
Mmmmm. Mmmmm. Beer. I love beers of all sorts, I brew beer as a pastime. I think one of the best beers you can buy today is a Bridgeport IPA. Especially if you can find it on tap. If you can't find any decent beers you can always go with the classic Guiness. Low in fat, but it fills you up, makes a good breakfast eh?
