Super Bowl (mainly re: snack foods)
I couldn't give 1 poo about sports. But of course, I have to go to a party tomorrow. And I do wish I posted this thread earlier but maybe we can keep it going long after this stoopid game. For parties, snack / appetizer / finger foods are always win. Tomorrow I'm making a recipe for a crab dip I found on AllRecipes.com <--fanfreakintastic website for foodies. I'm sure most of you are familiar with it. What are you making? Or what types of snackie-like foods have you made in the past that were successful?
If interested, this is sort of what I'm making - after some mods via the reviews, it'll be slightly different. Asiago and parmesan. No mayo. 3 cans of crab instead of 1, etc.: Warm Crab Parmesan Dip - All Recipes |
I am doing chicken wings ( I am starting the 1st Annual Bring It & Wing It chicken wing competition with my buds), Guacamole, pigs in a planket (little smokies wrapped with crouisant dough), and a chip dip we affectionately call Cheddar Donkey (crock pot, 1 jar queso con salsa, 1 jar salsa, bush's maple baked beans with bacon, and cooked and diced bratworst)

But I laugh in the general direction of vegetable trays. Get real ffs! Bring me some fatty goodness. |
Tell me about! My Super Bowl Sunday is not going to be very Weight Watchers friendly!

As it shouldn't be :).
I just remembered another dip I've made before that's a huge hit. Super easy: -Spread softened 8oz pkg cream cheese on bottom of glass baking dish -Top with Hormel chili - NO BEANS -Top with can of chopped green chilis -Top with loads of shredded cheddar Microwave till cheese is melted. Mix altogether and serve with tortilla chips. You'll need to nuke it periodically to warm it up. This stuff rocks. I've had it for dinner before lol. |
