Foods, drinks, candies, etc. that you loved as a kid...
...and still love now!
I came across these today at the grocery store and it was a total blast from the past: They have the little bendy straw glued to the back of the boxes. My parents had one of those little refrigerators upstairs for my brother and I. It was stocked with Coke stuffs and boxed drinks - mainly Hi-C Fruit Punch (I loved that shit,) and the Hershey's Chocolate Milk boxes. I'd put them in the freezer for 20 minutes or so and it'd come out like a shake. So anyways, they happened to be on sale at Publix today so I bought a few. It appears / tastes to be just enough to kill a chocolate craving but not enough to make you feel guilty. Score! Any foods, cereals, snacks, etc. that you loved as a kid and you still purchase regularly? Anything you miss that you can't find anymore? Yay memories! |

A chocolate bar made by Nielson or Cadbury called Liquid Four Flavours. It was like a Caramilk bar, except that the 8 pieces had 4 different fillings:
dark chocolate, vanilla, caramel & bordeaux. I thought that it was made by Rowntree, but apparantly not.

Peeps. Yeah, I know everyone thinks they're disgusting. I love them, but I only eat them at Easter.

Bubble Tape or any other number of sugary chewing gums, like Hubba Bubba. Oh man. I don't chew sugary gum anymore, preferring sugarless for obvious reasons, but holy moly, I used to pack my mouth with that stuff, like chipmunk cheeks of gum. My brother and I used to have contests with the Bubble Tape or Big League Chew to see who could pack more gum into their mouth and still blow a bubble (sort of like chubby bunny).

According to peeps geeks (aka my wife) these have to be eaten slightly stale. You're supposed to open the packaging and let the air get at them for a day or so, so that they get a crusty exterior.

About a year ago, for the hell of it, I bought about 4 packs of Bubbalicious and Hubba Bubba. They were ok. I guess it's possible the flavors changed over the years. But one flavor was Hershey's chocolate. THAT was good. Yeah, I like chocolate so what. lol |

Sure it tastes like watered down chocolate milk...but I LOVED this stuff when I was a wee lad. Once in a while I'll pick one up and I'll be damned if the very smell of it doesn't remind me of summers in little league. And this stuff...does anybody still sell this? I went nuts for it as a kid.

Holy crap I LOVED this gum!
Like the Hubba Bubba's and such, it made your mouth water, but it wasn't as sugary or something. I'll have to search around online to see if you can get it. There are some cool sites out there where you can still purchase stuff like this that's hard to find. I'll look later and post what I come up with. *mouth waters* |

Great site to find old favorites: Candy you ate as a kid® - page 1 ---------- Post added at 02:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:44 PM ---------- ooooh they have cinnamon toothpicks and Freshen Up gum! ---------- Post added at 03:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:51 PM ---------- Another similar site: Bulk Candy at The Online Candy Shop You have to buy in bulk for both sites. But if you're a die-hard fan of something, the prices aren't bad. |

Giving chocolate letters such as these is a Dutch tradition for Sinterklaasdag. I wish these were easier to find around these parts. Chocolate_letter Some years we actually celebrated Sinterklaasdag, but if we didn't, we got chocolate letters at Christmas.

Yes, in order to fully appreciate the deliciousness of Peeps, they must be eaten stale.

I was cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs when I was a kid. As an adult I decided to buy a box for a trip down memory lane. Puh! They were hollow orbs when I was young, and you could bite them in half and fill the halves with milk. Now, they're basically a chocolate cheeto substance. Tasty, but not fun enough for me to buy.
Remember those lik-m-sticks? I loved that candy scooper thingy!
