I need a simple smoothie..
Basically, I just need a really simple and quick recipe for a smoothie.
Ingredients that I have to work with: -Frozen Strawberries, Blackberry's, Raspberry's. -Ice -Frozen Yogurt -Other misc. kitchen stuff I'm basically just trying to figure out how much of each I should use to create a smoothie like what you get a smoothie stand. Thus far, mine are drinkable, but not nearly as good. Any tips/tricks you can give would be great. Oh, and its for 1 person, figure a 16oz or so smoothie is the target. Thanks |

A simple trick that you can do in finding a recipe, or simply trying to figure out what you are going to cook is to make use of Google. Plug in the ingredients on hand and see what it comes up with. I imagine you could substitute the frozen yogurt for the regular yogurt it calls for. These came up and sound rather simple:

Mine isn't as simple but here you go:
1 banana 1/2 cup uncooked rolled or steel cut oatmeal 2 cups ice with skim milk 3/4 the way up the the ice in the container you use for the ice 2 tbsp peanut butter 2 big scoops plain malted milk powder 2 tbsp real maple syrup scoop ON vanilla ice cream protein powder If I have one of those in the morning I'm good for hours.

Most smoothie places also put a soy base, soymilk, or soy/whey protein into their smoothies. You can approximate the soy base by adding silken tofu to your smoothie. I prefer whey protein over soy protein in my smoothie, though it makes it fluffier.

You can also use rice milk, almond milk, goat milk and even hemp milk for variations. I don't do well with soy protein or milk. Goat is great if you are lactose intolerant but want a milk that tastes more like milk. I personally use only organic.

I've been making this lately as a bodybuilding shake, but it would be generally good for a breakfast smoothie:
1 cup soy milk 1 cup frozen berries 1 banana 1 scoop protein powder 1 tsp glutamine (optional) 2 heaping tablespoons oat bran 1 teaspoon ground flax seed
