Recipe of the Day - June 13 (stuffed mushrooms)
Easy Stuffed Mushrooms
Ingredients 1 package large fresh mushrooms 2 cups instant stuffing 1 clove fresh garlic 1 small yellow onion 1/2-3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Preparation Preheat oven to 375. Prepare stuffing as directed on package. Pull stems from the mushrooms and finely chop the stems, onion and garlic. Add to stuffing mix; add cheese. Put mixture into mushrooms. Place on a cooking tin (either a cookie tin or one with higher sides. Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes or until stuffing is a dark brown. Cool for five minutes and serve. |

Usually the best dishes result from fairly simple recipes. This sounds like a really good one. Must try it.

I wanted to recommend this. I finally got around to making them last nite. It got both ohhhs and ahhhs.
Couple of things - 1) If you just want to buy a package of mushroom caps (usually cheaper), thats okay, cause you can buy some smaller mushrooms for the stuffing. 2) I found that this makes alot of stuffing. So, if like me, you only want to stuff three mushroom caps, you may want to cut the recipe. Or, better yet, have a small cassarole dish ready to cook the rest in. Thanks, Jadz. |
