Mix me a Snake Bite.
Years ago, some friends and I would frequent this local bar that made a drink called a Snake Bite. It was great. I do remember the bartender saying it had 1 shot of Yukon Jack and 1 shot of J.D.
but I haven't been able to figure out the mix she used. it was really tart and I've tried lemon juice, lime juice and a mixture of the two but its still not right. Anyone know what the mix is for a really sour snakebite? |

I don't know about sour snake bite, but at the pubs I frequent, a snake bite is half hard cider and half guinness. Yum yum!

the snakebite that I've always heard about was Half Cider, Half Lager, with a dash of currant.

There's a few recipes out there for snake bites.
The UK ones run along the lines Daval mentioned with cider/lager. I found quite a few with only Jack and JD but this one seems close to what you are talking about... Snake Bite 3 oz Jack Daniel's 1 oz Cointreau 1 oz lime cordial 1 In a old-fashioned glass combine ingredients and serve over ice.

then of course there is a spiderbite, which I believe is a mix of half tequila and half Yukon Jack. nasty stuff, IMO, but hey, I never liked either tequila or any kind of whiskey

Snakebite & Black is the one with a dash of blackcurrant. (.5 Cider & .5 Strong Lager)
Speaking from experience it's very popular with the younger crowd, cheap, highly alcoholic, and sweet. Although at the end of the night your tongue is purple and so is your puke.
