If i wasnt so lazy i would live off turkey sandwiches.

Fresh sour dough bread hopefully still warm. turkey breast about a qaurter inch slice of the stuff. not the lunch meat junk thats been packed in water. has to be home made in the oven. a slice of white american cheese. very little bit of mayo less then what the normal serving size is. a couple slices of tomato and as much lettice diced green pepper and sliced black olives as i can fit on it. then a few pretezels on the side just so i have something to crunch on with it.

A couple of my favorite sandwiches are a veggie sandwich and a burger I like to prepare with special toppings.

For the veggie sandwich, I use French bread, olive oil, Feta cheese, black pepper, tomatoes, red peppers, black olives, avacadoes and alfalfa sprouts. On the burger (which has vidalia onions in it), I use avacado, provolone and green olives with mustard. Just writing about this is making me hungry!

Has anyone tried a peanut butter and jelly sandwich put into one of those waffle-iron like sandwich machines. They end up like a hot pocket/ turnover type concoction. The method is questionable, but its a tasty sammich.

My favorite sandwich used to be smoked turkey, scallion cream cheese, and lettuce on pumpernickel. I haven't had it in a long time.

My all time favorite sandwich ever was this thing I used to get from College Inn in Charlottesville: Roast Beef and Bacon Sub (white sub roll), Swiss Cheese, pepperocini rings, black olives, lettuce, white onions, tzatziki sauce (gyro sauce) instead of mayo, little bit of greek dressing on the lettuce, sprinkle of oregano on top, pop in a 700 degree pizza oven for a few minutes to toast.

Heaven.

My favorite homemade sandwich is Fried egg with bacon, individually wrapped pastuerized, processed cheese-oid substance, and ketchup, on white bread toast.

Mmmm, I love a good sandwich.

Some of my favorites:

-The classic PB & Banana (occasionally with mayo as well). It is even better when grilled/fried! Elvis would be proud!

-Chicken salad, my Mom makes the best (of course)

-good 'ol fashioned Tomato Sandwich... fresh tomatoes from a local farm, two pieces of white bread (good with whole wheat too), mayo, and a good amount of pepper.

-Barbeque Sandwich, enough pork to feed three people, little bit of homemade coleslaw, plenty of sauce, piled between two buns

The one I just made....

whole grain pita bread slightly toasted so it got all warm, then some goat cheese put inside it- and because the bread was warm it got a little melty... then added in some sliced tomatoes, english cucumbers and fresh basil...

very very tastiriffic.

Mine has to be the Ham & Fried Egg double decker at a place near me called Blue Ash Chili. They make humongous double decker sammiches and this one is just great! It's not at all healthy with the fried egg, mayo, and cheese but but but but damn is it so good. When I'm looking to go off campus from the regular turkey breast on cracked wheat I'll go for one of these bad boys.

Blue Ash Chili - Article

I went over this way just a couple of weeks ago and was sad to find that the place had changed owners and has a new name. I hope they keep the same format and that ham & fried egg sammich...

I just had a sandwich yesterday that was totally and completely unexpectedly incredible!

It's called a "Californian".

A whole sliced avacado
bean sprouts
vidalia onion
cucumber
sliced beet
white cheddar cheese
spicy mustard
chipolte mayo

on wheat bread! Yum!

A very simple sandwich I love, and have hooked my friends on, as well, is by taking a fresh croissant, slicing in half, adding a thin slice of colby and a thin slice of provolone, microwave for about ten seconds to melt cheese, and beef au jeu for dipping each and every bite.

Even though, Im not a big fan of meat, I do like this sandwich. I take soft boiled egg whites, crushed baked crunchy bacon, itty bitty bit of mayo and mustard, sea salt, course black pepper, and that mexican taco shredded cheese, all mixed up, on toasted nut and grain wheat bread.

Another simple treat is toasted wheat bread, with melted butter, topped with cinnamon and brown sugar, slapped together.

Butter sauteed mushrooms with swiss on rye is quick, easy, and good too.

Oh yeah, and grilled american cheese with peanut butter and brown sugar.

The "Monte Cristo."

Roasted ham, swiss & cheddar chese, a thin slice of turkey, all slowly toasted to perfection, with pure maple syrup onto two, thick slices of seasoned sourdough french bread.

can go wrong with toasted peanut butter and nutella....mmmm, can throw some banana slices on there to.

i also love thinly sliced roast beef on whole weat with a little mayo, mustard, fresh tomato, and some regular lays for crunch factor.

all time fav has to be the left over thanksgiving sandwich. turky, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberrys, and some gravy stuffed between two slices of bread.

another one i like is to take a large loaf of garlic bread, sprinkle some cheese on it then add some chile or hamburger helper. not the healthiest thing but it goes great with beer when your watching football.
