Yeah, I will be in town because a friend and I are coming to see some baseball games. He's trying to visit all 30 stadiums this year, so I figured I'd tag along for Toronto. We'll be seeing games Thursday and Friday, then I'll be taking Saturday to check out the city and hang out with you people.

We'll figure out something interesting to do.
That's three confirmed Toronto gents. I'm willing to bet we can talk aberkok into making an appearance too.

I'm going to get in touch with cello on FB. I don't even know how Toronto is laid out, so I need everyone's help in suggesting locations. I'll be staying at the hotel at the Rodgers Center that overlooks the ballpark.

Queen West isn't far, and it has lots of places to hang out. You just walk up Blue Jays Way a couple of blocks.

More generally, the Skydome (only folks from out of town call it the Rogers Centre) is right downtown. With a day pass for the TTC you've got pretty much free reign over the entire city.
Our standard thing when TFPers come to visit is dinner and/or drinks. I'm sure we can modify that if you want to do something more exciting, though.

I'm away from my paper calendar for a couple of weeks, so I'll hold off a chime-in for a bit.
I do like the dinosaurs at the ROM but that little visit can eat cash and time, and is less a TO specific destination because of it being a museum. That said, the gem collection in the Mineral hall is gorgeous, and the flight of birds in the Animal exhibit is awesome.

One more month! I will be in town and free all day, so I don't think there are any time constraints. Who has an idea for what to do?

Yeah, I'm still thinking dinner/drinks, which while not a bad way to spend a day or evening, isn't really tourist-y. We can probably visit a few local landmarks if that's more your speed. The CN Tower is right next door to where you're staying, but it's a bit spendy. We can also do Kensington Market, or... I don't know, I'm still kind of new to the city myself. Perhaps Mr. Guru can come up with a few more options.

It really depends on what Halx is into. Toronto has a little bit of everything and a lot of everything else.
We should consider doing Canadiany things. That, by default, includes delicious beer, potentially locally produced, in addition to having a few donuts and maybe visiting one of those new poutinery locations downtown. But what else? It's not like he's going to have time to take off to the Great White North.

During the day, I'd love to check out some sights. I can do this on my own, but if you guys have this natural tour guide in you, it would be cool to hang out during all that. In the evening is when I think we should ALL meet for some food. Somewhere relatively near the stadium.
Does that help?

For food near the stadium, there are many options. It's a matter of pinning down what sort of cuisine/food type you want.

Take him to the St Lawrence Market for peameal bacon on a bun, or Kensington Mkt for sausages, cheese or coffee.
