So! Hey Everyone!

I'm on a running kick and just registered for a half marathon on Saturday Feb 19 in Myrtle Beach, SC.

All you East coast people.. this is your chance! I'm giving PLENTY of notice and its a great place to go and relax and chill. Who'd be up for cheering for a bit, running with me (AWESOME!) or just meeting up afterwards for some chill time?

I'll probably want a hotel closer to the race site for Friday the 18th but am open after that, depending on who's interested and what's going on.

If my two partners in crime (aka my recently stolen friends, lol) tag along, it'll be a riot.

Bumping this again... Getting to the point where I'd like to at least reserve my room and figure out what I can afford, based on whether I need to plan to cover all costs myself or if there will be any folks interested.

Hoping to at least buy my plane ticket by thanksgiving, now that I know I will definitely be flying out of O'Hare.

I can recommend The Jamaican hotel.

Eh, maybe. I dunno. If I am, I want to go to Chicago and get shitfaced with Jazz (and whoever else) and see some old military friends.

It'd be funny as hell if I showed up to this half marathon all tan and outta shape and you kick my ass. "Carry me, Monkie... I'm so tired."

As long as I get the sound effects of bombs going off behind meand a medal and a Dr Pepper afterwards.

Good call. My standby reward is to have a cute girl in a skimpy outfit feed me pieces of a German chocolate cake as I walk in slow circles.

Apparently my motivation squad will be Noodle on a bike with a Tambourine chasing me down the street.

Hell, I'd pay to see that.

Got your PM about this, but was waiting to see what my schedule would be like. I may be in the area around that time. I'll have to see if I can make it. If nothing else I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you.

I tentatively snagged a room with 2 doubles at the Holiday Inn since past experience tells me people say Hey! Yes! but then when its time to actually book they bail.

So this room I can cover on my own if need be, but I can cancel up to 6pm on the 18th so definitely still options if anyone is evaluating this early.

For the folks who have said maybe, what times in/out of town are you looking at?

My race is Sat morning, I was planning to fly in Fri morning and then leave either Sunday evening or Monday morning, as it is President's day and my office will be closed so free day off work.
