Toronto in June
As I mentioned in my blog, I will be in Toronto for a few weeks at the end of June and beginning of July. It's been four years since I was last able to raise a glass with TFP Toronto so it's high time we got together for a beer (or two).
The timing on this is going to be a little tight. I know that Fresnelly is going to be out of town from July 1, I too will be out of town for the weekend of July 2-4 and 9-12. The best time I can come up with right now, given my other commitments, is drinks on the evening of one of Friday, June 25th, Monday, June 28th or Tuesday, June 29th. If none of these end up working, I will be in Toronto sometime between July 5th and 8th as well. Let's figure out the best date.

A Friday night is almost certainly going to be the best option for me. As of now it looks likely that I'll still be out of town in June, so weekend planning works better in terms of scheduling.
Of course, I may also be unemployed by that date. Still, weekends will be better for Magpie who may want to attend as well.

Any of those dates should be fine for me.

The Monday June 28th won't really work but the:
Friday, June 25th and Tuesday, June 29th would be splendid.

What's the word on this?
As it turns out I will in fact be unemployed for any date in June, though I have some more work lined up the first week of July. Magpie is a maybe leaning towards no; getting the time off work would be a bit complicated for her. Also (and I feel like a bit of a heel asking this, but) fellow TFP'ers, can anyone spare me a couch to sleep on for whatever day this happens? I'll almost certainly be taking the bus again, and the recurring problem I've found in past events is that trying to be courteous to my hosts (siblings) is resulting in my having a rather prudishly early curfew. This would be sidestepped nicely, of course, if my host were someone who was along for the event and thus not likely to be inconvenienced by any nightlife shenanigans. It's certainly not critical, but I'd be grateful for the aid.

I am still aiming at June 29th. I'd offer you a place to stay but I am not sure I am going to have one yet as we are looking to move our house closing date up to an early date. I may be living out in the suburbs by then.

I appreciate the sentiment, at least.
It's not absolutely critical. A visit from Charlatan is a rare enough occurrence that it's something I'm not going to miss regardless; I'll figure something out. It's just that this way would streamline things considerably, so I figured I'd swallow my pride and at least put it out there to see what happens. I'm more than willing to pay my way in kind, too. I'd offer to cook dinner, but it seems like there are few to no TFP'ers in Toronto who don't eclipse my meagre abilities in the kitchen quite handily so I don't know that that's a particular kindness. I am more than capable of doing dishes, supplying wine or beer (or even liquor if that's your thing) and I'm good at menial labour. As I imagine we'll be going out at some point, I could even pick up dinner or a portion of a drink tab (maybe even all of it, if it's not exorbitant) in exchange for hospitality. I'd just get a hotel room, but as I'm not working at the moment and this is right before rent comes due, I'm going to be straining my cash reserves as it is just by making the trip and any miscellaneous expenses, so that would probably be unwise on my part. We'll make it work no matter what.

Hello Everyone,
I am sorry to say that I am going to have to cancel for June 29th. We just have too many things to get done before we sell the house. Can we move this to a week later, July 6th or 7th? Sorry for the last-minute changes but I am trying to cram so many things into this brief visit.

That will not work for me. Is there a weekend option?

I am trying to see if I can get back to Toronto for Sunday, July 4th but I am just not sure yet.
I am really sorry to have to change the dates.

June 28th is no good for me, either.
Sadly, I think this reschedule has nixed my chances of being there. Sorry, Charlatan.
