Monkie coming to Toronto Updated 2/18 w/ PICS
I showed my west coast love.. now time to show my east coast love!
I'll be off for the weekend of the American Thanksgiving (Thurs 11/26 and Friday 11/27) as well as a couple days before. I was entertaining the idea of doing a detour from the WNY area over the border. I still haven't pinned everything down, but would anyone be available on Thurs 11/26 or Friday 11/27? I'd probably have the day wide open, mid-day would work best but I can potentially be flexible. I miss all of you.. hoping with a little advance notice folks who might need the extra time to free up schedules can do it So. Aberkok. Cello. Martian. Baraka_Guru. Fresnelley. Settie. Kramus. Charlatan's Gargoyle. I'm Coming

Well, since I've been getting after you to come back, I figure I'm pretty much obligated.
We'll say definitely maybe. The only thing that could potentially cause a problem with this is if I get a job and am unable to get the necessary day(s) off.

Oi! This is great!
Nothing after 5 pm? I could feasibly do midday, but my time would be limited.

I'm pretty flexible on the times right now.. I'd just have my dog with me on the trip and probably have a friend watch him stateside for the day.
Throw out what works for you!

Thursdays I'm usually free until 2:30p.m. (can't re-schedule that commitment), but Friday is best. I'm free until 5 and I can re-schedule that thing.
I vote the Friday.

Thursdays are kid things days - that means I'm out of the picture after about 2:15 pm. Friday is good from mid morning right up till I fetch my Lady at the end of the day, and depending on what's what I may be able to fetch her right on over to Monkie
be sure to pm me so I don't put on my dunce hat and forget when it's The Day. ps - too bad it wasn't this weekend Amonkie. The Bayview Art Tour is happening from noon till 5 Saturday and Sunday, and my home is all set up for folks to peruse my Wonder and Whimsy art. I'm actually hoping a couple of people find themselves tuned in to the art enough that it feels like they've entered a Cave of Wonders

Hope you enjoy Toronto. Great city to visit/party. But, as a true East Coaster, I'd like to point out TO is smack in the middle of the Great Central Canadian Wilderness, far from the civilised, pleasant life here on the east coast.

That's right GreyWolf, We are not at the East Coast. Far from that beautiful place. But I prefer to mark the wilderness as starting just north of Eglinton Ave.

For many, the wilderness is north of bloor, east of the DVP and west of Dufferin...
I don't ascribe to that.

So far it sounds like Friday has the most votes. Good to know!
I'll update in another couple weeks, but if anything changes for you folks or if there's anyone else interested, chime in! I would love to see you! The only thing I absolutely must do on my visit is pay Cornelius a visit... the rest is open. And Kramus... Your exhibit showing is what made me come up with this idea.. the last time I was in Toronto was for your first showing, i believe??!

I need to see pictures of the visit, please.
I've been gazing at the house on Street View but it's just not the same.

A toque like that, and you haven't worn it once since then?
Man, that seems like it was so long ago. I guess because it kinda was.

Hey guys... I don't often do this, but I have a change of plans. Which means the roadtrip is out for this year. Now that I know you folks would all show up again someday, I'm going to shoot for a trip when its a little warmer and the weather is not such a vicious variable to have to consider for the trip. I've already done 3 days of driving in a blizzard. NEVER AGAIN. lol.
You guys should all still get together though!! You have enough pictures of me you could do a cutout.

I do have it with me though, just in case there is an outbreak of snow in the tropics. What a bummer that Monkie is canceling. I agree with her. You guys should try to get together regardless. At worst, you should try for the post Christmas lunch. Both Monkie and I will be there in spirit.

That is sad. The monkie thing I mean, although the toque situation is also unfortunate.
If amonkie won't be there, my ability to attend is once more thrown into doubt. The key issue is getting home again -- Ms. monkie had graciously offered to give me a lift (even knowing it was significantly out of her way), and without that to fall back on the whole transportation issue becomes more complicated. Days like this I miss having a car of my own. amonkie: Don't think you're off the hook. You owe us a visit now. Everyone else: Decide on a date and time, if you still want to do this. I will let you all know if I'm available as soon as I can figure that out for myself.

But we are overdue for a Toronto event.

Yo peeps!
Are there still plans in the works for a meeting? I'm willing to attend, but the end of November is fast approaching and I need to know if/when this is happening. Worst case scenario for me -- I can get a round-trip bus ticket. That puts me in Toronto at 12:30ish, and on the bus home around 5. Or I can use this as an excuse to finally go see my sister's new place and crash with her overnight, giving me the evening. Let's get something moving here. aberkok and Baraka_Guru are awesome, but it'd be nice to have more than just the three of us this time around.

YO!!
I am making good on my promise to get my ass back North of the Border. as of right this minute, I will be in Toronto Saturday February 13 thru the morning of Sunday Feb 14. I have a Suite booked at Clarion Suites Selby Downtown (592 Sherbourne Street , Toronto, ON, CA, M4X 1L4). SO... party pad? I will have a car and can round up folks near the city limits and get them into town. I've got the room covered, but if anyone needs a place to crash or wants to crash, fine with me, just chip in a few if you can . There is parking at the hotel, but it is $15 a day, not sure what the short term parking rate is. Who loves their monkie?? And pony - if you still want to come, meet me in Toronto.
