Seattle: Pics from December!! (scroll down)
Ktspktsp and I will be at my home near Seattle before and after Christmas, and for the first time, we might actually have time to meet some local TFP'ers! Will anyone be around for the last week of December? Meeting up at a local brewhouse or coffeehouse one evening would be great.
Or, you know, if Portland works better... sure, we could swing that. But it's about time we met y'all on the West coast! Let's make this happen.

Yay!!!
We should be up that way from the 22nd through Christmas Eve, then back in Oregon after that, so if before Christmas doesn't work and you're willing to meet up in Portland, I'd definitely do that. But let's try and get everyone together again in Seattle, since I would love to see sweetpea and Topper again, as well as Elphaba and her hubby.

I'd get in on it if it happens before the 22nd. Ive got major dental work planned for that day so I don't know how active I'd like to be during the next week. But you never know, we'll see what happens. Oh, and Seattle would be better then Portland for me. Not sure I want to drive that far for a pint of beer. For a date with a cute girl and a pint though, I'd definitely be in!
Hey, that sounds like a good idea, find me a date and make me come to Portland! |

Awesome, this sounds great already. We arrive late on Dec 22nd, so perhaps an evening before Christmas would work. Either that, or maybe the 26th or so? We'll chat.

26th might be doable for us or other days might work too, I have to go around my work schedule, but Topper has that week off, but I can make an evening thing of course. (not sure if you wanted day or evening)
We'll be out of town for New Year's starting the 29th, so gotta fit it in before then looking forward to it

We won't be in Seattle on the 26th, unfortunately, as we're returning to Oregon on Christmas Day for Christmas with his parents (my parents in tow, yippee). But we'll be driving up the 22nd, and be there the 23rd and 24th--the 24th is not doable after 5pm, because that's when my family celebrates Christmas

Hmm, we're taking off a few days after Christmas, so the 27th won't work... what about the 23rd at night, or 24th during the day? And where?
During the day, how about either Caffe Ladro on upper Queen Anne, or Vivace on Capitol Hill? If at night, I am thinking Hale's Ales in Fremont/Ballard, or Elysian Brewing (3 locations). Drink Local!!

For Elph's crew and ours, Elysian Fields (down on 1st in Pioneer Square) would probably be the best bet, and either the 23rd or 24th works well for my SO and I The 23rd at night would be awesome, I think.
And I'm glad you suggested Elysian Brewing--I love their beers.

Alright, Pioneer Square sounds great. I haven't actually tried Elysian, but we ran across one of their outposts in Greenlake when we were sussing coffee shops in October (Zoka's).
So, looks like Elysian in Pioneer Square for Dec 23rd... does earlier or later work for people? I am thinking 9pm, but maybe that would be too late? 7 could also work. Maybe the parking situation would be easier, earlier in the evening. Suggestions?

I'm sorry, LPM... just looks like everyone is taking off soon after Christmas. However, there are some permanent Seattle-dwellers around through the New Year, so maybe they would be able to meet up separately? We'll see who responds...

23rd tenatively looks good for us. a 7:30pm time would probably work better. I think I get off work at 7 on that day and then it's just a skip/hop to pinoeer, we have to be at a family gathering really early on the 24th, that's the only reason having it early would work better, usually we're night owls
so tenatively count us in, I'm fairly certain that we'll be able to make it cheers. sp Quote:

I might make it, but no guarantees as I have my dental appointment on the 22nd to have some teeth removed. My plans are to use up all of my remaining dental insurance at the end of this year and use next years funds for the reconstruction work so I cant really reschedule it. If I make it great, if not, there will be other times.

I am going to be another no show, and both Mike and I were looking forward to this get together.
My sis and brother-in-law are still without electricity with the added "charm" of a tree through their roof. It doesn't seem to matter that my b-i-l has a medical necessity (late stages diabetes) that requires electricity to power his breathing machine and wheelchair. Fortunately, their next door neighbor has strung an electrical cord to keep those two items recharged and working. Jack and John refuse to stay anywhere other than their home because they need to be close to the hospital and the dialysis center. Mike and I want to spend Saturday supporting their needs in any way they will allow us. Sheesh, they still intend to have Christmas at their home if the electricity comes back by then. |

What is it with snow and TFP meetups? Woke up this morning at my parents' house to about 3 inches on the ground, which is odd so close to the water! This is what we get for being so close to the Olympics, I guess.
Anyways, we'll still be making it, as the snow is already gone on the roads, thank goodness, but we may be leaving earlier than intended if it looks like it's going to ice over tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you!

awww guys, I'm so sorry to report I have a terrible flu. I was hoping to be better by today, but I hardly have the energy to get off the couch, let alone go out to dinner with all you lovely people. I'm truly bummed out.
normally, I would just shrug it off and come, but Topper just recently had strep throat and if I have it now, I don't think that would be a nice thing to pass on to you all for the holidays. anyway, I'm so sorry I'll be missing meeting you abaya and ktspktsp. but hopefully again sometime when you're back in the states. I hope everyone has a wonderful time. and don't forget to take lots of pics sp

We met up, we drank beers, we had a good time. abaya and ktspktsp were kind enough to drop E. and I off at the ferry...an hour after we had intended to catch it, so that should give you an idea of what a good time we had.
abaya has all the pictures. I think I have one. I'll have to find it.

Alright, I'm finally putting up pics over a month later, lol... took me this long to get an internet connection for my laptop (I usually use ktspktsp's, but the pics are on my machine). Enjoy!!
You can see Snowy & her man E, Zed Wolf and his non-TFP friend (I forget her name, I'm sorry Zed), me & Snowy, and of course my handsome husband ktspktsp. We had some beer samplers, as you can tell. Snowy, post your pic(s) please!!
