Toronto Lunch at Dangerous Dan's. Dare ye?
 

Do you ever feel that your not getting enough calories these days? Hungry?

Thanks to the Where am I in Canada? thread, some of us are going to try and get together for lunch, in November, at Dangerous Dan's Diner on Queen E. at Broadview.

I can't do the first weekend of November, but am otherwise open.

I don't think I could finish coronary burger for lunch. Hell, I don't think I could finish it period.

It'll be better for me if you guys choose a date, and i'll say whether or not I can make it. Most of my weekends are quite busy because of work and other things anyway. But if I know the date, I can try to make it.

Make sure you get your tetnus shots... :lol:

I have eaten there before and it isn't too bad. Fresnelly, just squash that temptation to go to Jilly's afterwords. Your wife will kill you! :lol:

If it's on Saturday I can't, since I teach until 3p.m. (wouldn't get to DD's until about 4p.m.).

Sunday the 12th would be fab, though.

anybody consider a week day? Weekends are a huge scramble for me. that's when I put the most mileage on my car (those with kids and/or in-laws know what I mean).

But during the week, I can slip onto the transit, or parkway and be there lickity-split!

Thursdays and Fridays are usually quite good for me. No classes on either day :D

I would vote for a Thursday or Friday anytime! ( I have no classes those days either :) )

The fact that I can only get the deep fried mars bar if I get one of the specials is annoying. Not to mention the $4 price tag.

I might get the coronary burger just to say i've had one. Whether or not I finish it is another matter.

Well, it certainly sounds good. But I can't say I'll try the "Quad C" this round--that is something I'll need to train for... literally.

I'm good anytime on weekends and after 5:00 on weekdays.

I think I may make a reconnaisance sortie this Friday... some of my work mates are intrigued with heart by-pass surgery, and want to try it out...

Went to the diner for a burger. The food offerings are major sized, and the poutine was good. Decore is early model minivan.

I will be in town from Dec 23 until Dec 31 and might be able to squeeze in a few hours to have a beer if anyone is available.

I will be stuck in NY for christmas as well... any plans that crop up I can try to make.

I just might for a burger with a fried egg on top. I'm curious though, what do you drink with that, coffee or a beer??

The 16oz comes with a pop and the 24oz comes with a shake :D

I had lunch at DD's last week and finally tried the Ribs. It was certainly a big portion, a little too fatty for my taste though. I think i'm gonna stay with my burgers there.

Anyone tried anything else on the menu?

i had the poutine. I gather that it is authentic, as the only other time i've had it was from Harvey's.

Nice thick gravey, fat fries and squeaky cheese curds.

This friday I might not be able to make it :(

Well, three of us made it for burgers & fries. The food was passable, the conversation was good...

Speaking of the jerk place, i went there on tuesday for the first time and had the coconut shrimp as an appetizer followed by jerk chicken and ribs combo. The coconut shrimp was utter crap and way overpriced. The ribs were nothing special as well. but the chicken was totally amazing.

I'd go back and order the chicken again anytime.
