Toronto Lunch at Dangerous Dan's. Dare ye?
Do you ever feel that your not getting enough calories these days? Hungry?
Thanks to the Where am I in Canada? thread, some of us are going to try and get together for lunch, in November, at Dangerous Dan's Diner on Queen E. at Broadview. http://www.dangerousdansdiner.com/ How about you? Let's pick a weekend and find a time. No reservations necessary. I can't do the first weekend of November, but am otherwise open.

I don't think I could finish coronary burger for lunch. Hell, I don't think I could finish it period.
It'll be better for me if you guys choose a date, and i'll say whether or not I can make it. Most of my weekends are quite busy because of work and other things anyway. But if I know the date, I can try to make it.

Make sure you get your tetnus shots...
I have eaten there before and it isn't too bad. Fresnelly, just squash that temptation to go to Jilly's afterwords. Your wife will kill you!

If it's on Saturday I can't, since I teach until 3p.m. (wouldn't get to DD's until about 4p.m.).
Sunday the 12th would be fab, though.

anybody consider a week day? Weekends are a huge scramble for me. that's when I put the most mileage on my car (those with kids and/or in-laws know what I mean).
But during the week, I can slip onto the transit, or parkway and be there lickity-split! |

The fact that I can only get the deep fried mars bar if I get one of the specials is annoying. Not to mention the $4 price tag.
I might get the coronary burger just to say i've had one. Whether or not I finish it is another matter.

Friday can work. I'll see about taking the afternoon off, since there's no way I could ever go back to work after a meal there.
How about a Friday at around 1pm?

Baraka... we need to put you in a head to head eating contest with Supple Cow (the reigning Queen of the ice cream sundae).

Oh trust me... Baraka is in if he can make it. It's time for Baraka and Leto to join the ranks of Toronto TFP Meet-Ups. We need to inject some life into our meet-ups. It's been quiet lately.

Well, it certainly sounds good. But I can't say I'll try the "Quad C" this round--that is something I'll need to train for... literally.
I'm good anytime on weekends and after 5:00 on weekdays.

I think I may make a reconnaisance sortie this Friday... some of my work mates are intrigued with heart by-pass surgery, and want to try it out...
Edit: Friday evening: Went to the diner for a burger. The food offerings are major sized, and the poutine was good. Decore is early model minivan. Pics: The establishment: The establishment in context with its neighbourhood: Last edited by Leto; 10-27-2006 at 05:36 PM.. |

Hmm, this caught some attention and then kind of died off.
May I suggest the 24th (friday)? Aberkok will be back by then. Nov 24th at 12:30 anyone?

I had lunch at DD's last week and finally tried the Ribs. It was certainly a big portion, a little too fatty for my taste though. I think i'm gonna stay with my burgers there.
Anyone tried anything else on the menu?
