On DVD This Week. January 17th
Although there wasn't alot of replies to the first On DVD This Week it was all positive so here we go again
![]() Lord of War http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0399295/ Lord Of War... may not be what you expect - TFP Thread by Wondash Two for the Money http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0417217/ The Man http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0399327/ Underclassman http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0373416 Venom http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0428251/ I'll start with my favorite from this week, Lord of War. This movie isn't an Action flick like the commercials suggest, It follows an amoral Nick Cage from selling his first Uzis to becoming one of the biggest freelance gunrunners in the world. Jared Leto plays his drug addicted brother who seems to be haunted by events he witnessed early in the movie, and Ethan Hawke plays an Interpol agent who just can't legally catch Cage doing anything wrong. It's clever and witty at times, but still has some serious consequences. This movie isn't for everyone, It's similar to Blow(Johnny Depp) with guns instead of drugs. ![]() I thought Two for the Money was decent. First off, I gotta say Al Pacino plays Al Pacino like nobody else. The movie started off fine but after a while it got stale and didn't seem to go anywhere or accomplish anything. It seemed the movie started off being about McConaughey but ended being more about Pacino's Illness'... I don't think I'd like this movie at all but I have a small crush on Rene Russo and I don't care if she's older than my mother! The Man.. was just bad.. It has Eugene Levy playing the American Pie Dad vs Sam Jackson playing the bad mother... Shut yo mouth! It has every Cliche character and plot imaginable plus fart jokes. Sadly the fart jokes were possibly the funniest thing in the movie.. Then again I've been pretty harsh on comedies recently. One or two grins and a slight chuckle here and there just isn't enough to pass as a good comedy in my book. I didn't get Underclassman or Venom today so I don't really have anything to say about them yet. Not that I'm looking forward to either of them. You can vote for more than one movie if you want ![]()
