AND SHE FALLS OFF THE BED IN THE BACKGROUND!!!! LOLOLOL oh and by the way "the normal guy" never really had a name....I mean he's Tyler Durden. But really he doesn't have a name in the movie. No one ever says it! |
he's listed as Narrator in the movie credits...
How about when Tyler nudges Marla's dresser, causing her dildo to jiggle. It's the subtle humor of it all. |

and yeah it's all subtle humor, I love it! |
sounds like you're pretty excited about that movie.. heh..
I saw it in the theater with my best friend, and we thought we were gonna see some tough guy movie... damn we were blown away. Instantly the coolest movie we had ever seen. Went out and bought the sound track the very next day. A little bit later, it became one of the first DVDs that I ever bought. |
I really liked Fight Club too. The ending was surprising, but the scene that sticks in my memory is the one where he shoots at "the evil twin" and hits the windows of the van. The expression on his face was "priceless."

I went and saw it with my mom of all people the night it opened. She was kind of mortified while I was laughing. I thought she needed a dose of my mentality. I read the book and couldn't wait for it to come out. There are a few things I liked about the book better, but everyone did a good job in their parts. It vents allot of frustration over the complicity of the plastic world this is becoming. I think a side point he's making though is taking the same absurdity in revolting in such ways is a pathway just as insane.

Is it me or is Fincher going soft? Since Seven and Fight Club the movies have been kinda lame. The Game and Panic Room were silly. Although, his ex. prod. of BMWFilms.com were outstanding.
P.S. Alien 3 has always been my favorite for some reason. |
Fight Club is one of the few films that I recommed people read both the book AND the Film.
I haven't had a chance to read Chuck's other books, but I need to get my ass in gear and do so |

Also, about Fight Club...who the fuck is Jack? Edward Norton is refered to as Jack on the back of the Video/DVD box. Where did that come from? -C.S. Flim |

we even have a class here called "subversive thinking"
am I the only one to see the complete and total irony in having a class in "subversive thinking"? regarding Fight Club, I have seen the movie about 4 times, and while I think its a great film, I hated the ending. I think the reason is that Tyler Durden knows SO much about how everthing in society works, and how to manipulate it to his ends/advantage that I just dont see how he could think that blowing up a building or two is going to erase all the records of all those credit companies. It completely ignores the fact of remote backups. That little bit of logical inconsistency blows the ending for me. Also, it seems, for some reason, a bit stale or cliche. The movie is SO subversive all throughout, and then at the end, goes for a big Hollywood explosion. That bugs me. But other than the very ending, great film that I can watch over and over. Havent read the book yet. Perhaps I should. |
