On USA? THAT'll be good. It'll be missing half the dialogue, including the greatest line in movie history.

re: who's the bartender?

I'm not sure if this forum is still active, but I created an account just to post this. Lots of people wonder who the bartender is, and I figured it out. Do any of you remeber a show back inthe mid 80's called fraggle rock? Well the old man that lived upstairs plays the bartender. There you go, mystery solved. Oh and for the record, I was one of the first to see the movie... it wasn't actually pulled from EVERY theatre, it showed here when it released, there were about 6 people in the theatre. Since that day I've searched for the dvd, and since bought the original release, the special edition, and the unrated edition. You know that I'll be buying the NC-17 version if it comes out, or if I can even track it down. You can get a glimpse of what the NC-17 version would look like in the special features. The coffee shop scene where Rocko kills three people is longer, and you see the muzzle flash as well as blood spraying the walls and spurting out of them. I can't wait to see the hotel scene unedited, apparently it's something like four minutes longer. All in all, a great movie, and the sequal is supposed to pick up right after the courtroom scene, let's just hope that it can live up to the first one.

Old thread, but I figured I'd throw in my two cents.

I love the story of the movie. Very cool idea. Vigilante justice, yeah!

That said. Someone was asleep during the entirity of film school. And I think it was this director. So many bad shots, bad cuts, overall just a poorly made film, which at times can overshadow the great story. For me at least.

On a side note, the sequel got scrapped. Sorry to disappoint all of you's who were excited for it. The info was up on IMDB for a while, but it was removed about 6 months ago.

Eh, I thought the movie was very overrated. Everyone talks about how great it is, but after I saw it I thought it was pretty lousy. The acting was poor, the movie's plot was pretty poor - It was a decent idea, but how it was done was unlikely enough that I thought it was a horrible movie.

Funny thing.. this thread popping up. Watched it again for the billionth time. I remember downloading it on it's 0-day release way back when. I fail to see where people nitpick about this film. I for one thought that most of the scenes are awesome.

looks like the sequel "All Saint's Day" won't be coming anytime soon...

Guess we'll just have to settle for the East Coast Saints.

Three years later and IMDB lists Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day as being slated for a 2009 release as of December 2008. Currently listed as in "Post Production". Everyone is back except WIllem Dafoe. Is anyone interested in this? The lack of Willem Dafoe almost ruins it for me...

depends how they removed him. As long as the movie keeps up with the old one, it should be great.

I can't think a more excruciating performance than Willem Dafoe's in this film.

Anyway, anyone who enjoyed The Boondock Saints might also like Ash Wednesday (with Edward Burns and Elijah Wood).

Boosh. Same here. Also read LOTR way before it was even announced it was going to be a movie. Bow down to me for some reason because I found out about it before the rest of you! muahah

Well, we have a trailer for the sequel:
Wikipedia says the movie's current release date is October 30th, 2009.

I'm hoping it'll be good, I did enjoy the first one a lot.
