Top 3 Anime Series!
Just wanna know everyone's top 3 Anime Series are and why.
Mine'd have to be - Cowboy Bebop - It's east meets west, Anime done in really western style, music, characters.. setting I guess. Think of it as a Space Western, and It's totally brilliant. - Hellsing - Alucard's pretty much the most badass character.. ever. There are issues with Seras not being awesome enough, but in my opinion she's kinda like badass relief.. it'd be too much without her.. God knows how I'll make it through Hellsing Ultimate when that gets released '06 or '07. - Samurai Champloo - Hailed as the spiritual successor to Cowboy Bebop.. totally awesome random adventures of useless girl Fuu and her 2 samurai companions.. Who don't actually want to be there. Honorable Mentions Azumanga Daioh - Absolutely adorable.. Seriously give it a watch, cos it'll bring back those high school memories.

Rurouni Kenshin the OVA. The first one, not the second one about his dumbass kid who climbs up onto a roof and can't get off. It takes a very nice turn away from the series and describes quite a bit of information I wanted to know aside from the scar.
Can't think of anything else that particularly impressed me off the top of my head. That's what happens when you've seen too much. BTW, there's a new Hellsing coming out? All I wanted more out of the series were some OVAs telling me how the hell Alucard got captured and tamed in the first place.

Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo are awesome. I haven't seen enough to say whether they're in fact the best, but out of the ones I have watched, they were my favorites. They were closely followed by Rorouni Kenshin. Also, while I havn't seen any of the actual series, the Ninja Scroll movie was fairly excellent.

Fooly Cooly. Cowboy Bebop. And Tenchi Universe.
Man, I "grew" up on Tenchi, metaphorically speaking.

We are talking about that movie where Jubei goes off with some ninja girl to kill a bunch of weird powered people, the first being a rock man?

Bebop, Nadesico, and Boogiepop Phantom. Nadesico is probably my favorite, it's the only anime I've seen that actually gets better over the course of the series!

Serial Experiments Lain is quite good, but you might want to check out Boogiepop. It's got a similar style/atmosphere to it, but I think it hangs together a bit better as far as plot goes.

TriGun - Wolfwood is my favorite anime character of all time.
Cowboy Bepop - The perfect blend of action and jazz Escaflowne - Probably the most storyline driven anime I have seen. I would say it is worth seeing at least once.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - I like how fucked up all the characters are, makes me feel good about myself.
Hikaru No Go - apart from the ghost, IMO, it's the anime that's closest to reality that I've ever seen. And the way they can make something so simple like playing Go interesting and intense speaks volumes about their ability to tell a story. Plus You can see the characters gradually grow as the story progresses AND they actually change clothes everyday!!! Doremon - grew up reading and watching this anime. How I wish I have a friend like Doremon....

Record of Lodoss War - This is one of the first anime series that I watched and it was an instant favorite as soon as I saw Ashram.
Gundam Wing - I'd seen some of the older Gundam series and they really didn't interest me much, Gundam wing just seemed to have much cooler suits. I don't really have a 3rd favorite, Trigrun was good, Cowboy Bebop was good, there's a few others but.. none seem to match my 2 favorites.

Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell are the only ones i've seen in detail. And they're both great. The graphic detail in the ghost in the shell movies is fantastic (beats the hell out of the series)

I'm going to have to split this into 2 sections: serious and non-serious.
Serious: GITS Cowboy Bebop. Evangelion (Although I actually prefer RahZephon) Mad/Insane FLCL Excel Saga Love Hina. Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu gets my honorable mention. There's nothing quite as funny as a mascot suit running around with a baton launcher going "Fumo!" all the time...

Anybody else ever watch Vandread? Aside from that FLCL is great, Trigun, Hellsing, and Full Metal Panic, though to pick just three would be quite the feat for me.
