Damn, it would've been my chance to give people wrong directions!
Yonge street? See that sign that says Yonge street? That's wrong, you gotta go all the way down there. Close to 50 miles away. Go! Mush! |
I'm still for the Bransons, the Lenz's have grown on me though.
I'm glad the Deperate Housewives are gone, but if they were in the final three it may have erupted into an all out catfight by the time they finished...that would be classic TV... |

Fuck yeah! Weavers lost! Where was God on that one?!?!
I swear, the applause for the Weavers wasn't genuine. Oh, in other news, the Linzes won :D |
Yep, and the gambling spoiler is accurate for a second time. I wonder who tries to pull that stunt, crew members?
That shoe detour was rather strange. I can't really imagine asking dozens of women to try on shoes, but it must be a foot fetishist's dream. What an unflattering location to end the race, maybe fitting to the rest of it. But only wait two months and we'll have a brand new classic style season. I hope they change it up and go the other way around the world (eg to Asia first). |
Yeah, I like the show much more when they go all around the world.
That shoe detour was NUTS. I would imagine that it would take forever. My original plan for the ladder task was for the Linz guy to knock the Weaver kid off. Then I noticed the separate ladders |
I'm just glad the Weavers lost, its sad when the youngest (and male) is more mature than his 2 older sisters and Mom.
|
It's nice when the team you've been rooting for since episode 1 wins.
and in other news, the Bransen daughters still aren't hot |

I respectfully disagree. I like them a lot. I would have been happy with either the Bransens or the Linzes winning the race so I am thrilled by the result. I was hoping the weavers would walk in to total silence. I bet they were instructed by the producers to clap politely. |

Part one of your statement I totally agree. The Linz's were one of the teams I was rooting for the whole time because they seemed to be genuinely having fun along the way. Part two I cant agree with you at all. The Bransen daughters are damn hot. |

Notice how they didn't show the Weavers doing the puzzle? I bet it would've taken them a whole episode to do it. |
i respect your respectful disagreement, but I really didn't think the Bransen's were that hot. The middle one was cute, but the tall one was too skinny and looked like her dad, and the youngest one didn't look a year older than 14 (though I know she's 18)
|
Well, you may not have thought they were hot, but the Linz boys sure had the hots for them. I wouldn't have been surprised if there had been a little camper swaping going on on those overnights
|
I don't think the Linz boys had much other choice. It was either pine after the Bransen daughters, or the Weaver daughters. *shudders*
|
I was satisfied with the ending. After the father and son-in-laws were eliminated, I was rooting for the Linzs. All told, I was satisfied by this version - likable winners, easy villians and they went to places I've been. The only place it seemed they skipped was Las Vegas (oh the potential for some of the women in showgirl outfits... )

Weaver females - don't. Although I was thrilled at the possibility of the Weaver's quitting in Montreal, I got a new found respect for Rolly (sp?). He has a winner's attitude. If I were to give individual awards to the best individuals competitors in this series: Gold: Rolly Silver: Wally Bronze: tie the little kids (brother and sister) Wally and the kids held their own when they were well behind the rest of their team. |
Actually, I was hoping that the Weavers would have been the first ones at the finish line. You know why? Because at the "drive the golf carts to the stadium" challenge, the clue clearly stated "you must remain in your golf cart" while searching for the entrance. The Weavers got out of their cart and walked around a barrier to look at a directory. So if they would have ariived first and then been assesed a time penalty and then lost, it would have been suwheet! :D

So did they preview next season? Are they back to the around the world 2-person race? I went to bed as soon as the Lenz's crossed the finish line. |

Yes, they did preview next season. Back to pairs, 5 continents, 60,00 miles, etc. |
I missed the teaser for the new season, my PVR has been acting wonky and switched channels on me for no reason.
I'll have to see if I can find it on the web. I'm looking forward to the new season though. I can't believe I only got into this show with season 4! |
ONLINE CHALLENGE FACEOFF BETWEEN THE BRANSENS AND WEAVERS
Right after the Linzes won the race, the producers staged a final challenge between the Bransens and the Weavers, with an SUV s the prize.
Linky to the video: http://www.cbs.com/gmc/?source=ola&p...16027B516015S0 They have to run and grab 12 "icons", from a series of scattered clue boxes, and place them on the appropriate part of the North American puzzle map. The video is about 6 minutes long, and follows a commercial for the SUV. BONUS: If you look very closely, while they are running to and fro, you can see an unfinished map in the background. This tells me that the Weavers never actually had to assemble theirs. |
Spoiler: I like how everyone went to go congratulate the Bransen's and no one tried to console the Weavers :D
