In the "Orientation" film they mentioned zoological experiments which explains the shark and the polar bears. Tests were being run on the island but somehow something got messed up in the process. Which caused the Scientists to go a bit looney. The Scientists then became "The Others". The reason they are after Walt? ESP. They know he has some sort of gift so they want more experiments to be done. Now some of you may be asking....how did they know Walt was coming and how do they know about his "gift". Not sure but look at this....

Sun's father is connected somehow to the Hanso corporation. Jin knows more than he is leading on to. That is why he is "being punished" or whatever he kept saying to Sun in season 1. And hell...dude speaks english next episode according to the preview.

if you do a google search for "Hanso" it will pull up a website. mess around in there and you will probably get some more hints or it will spawn more theories.

Also, the others didn't throw michael, sawyer, and jin in the pit...those were the tail end survivors. they are just as confused as everyone else on the island.

Anyone remember what the firm was that Walt's mother worked for? I wonder if they are tied into this somehow and thats how they knew about Walt.

How many other shows have their been on television that could generate this level of intense discussion, investigation, and watcher loyalty as Lost? I mean, this show is so intense. So layered. I love it!

I still say it's a dream sequence. There was a preview on yahoo today that had the clip where Jin speaks english, and there was, to say the least, some weird shit with it. Like... Spoiler: a man in a chicken suit!!! Strange as the show is, I don't think that fits in anywhere.

Am I the only one that wanted Sawyer to deck the hell out of Michelle Rodriguez' character?

I think he likes it (as hinted at in next weeks preview). I think that he has no respect for the women that he dominates, which is why he treats them like trash. But I think that he really likes a woman that won't take his crap, which explains the attraction to Kate.

I had a premonition about what could happen in Lost... by this seasons end, an all out war with the plane survivors vs. the 'others' with the fate of the geothermal bomb in the balance. Kind of like an Armaggeddon type thing... Good vs. evil.

I know, I know. It's wacky. But so is this show. Just one question... could they not have shown more skin on Kate in the shower???? Come on!!!

I say Sawyer and "the Michelle Rodriguez" character are going to get it on before too long.

There is no question that the creators of the show created the Hanso website. They have a few different websites out there with wierd additional information. They are quite clever at adding additional information to the show...

Remind me why they were looking under the bunker. Were they looking for the magnetic source? or just being nosy?

They were trying to understand what the computer was doing or preventing...

I thought the last episode was pretty weak. To much time was spent on the lottery ticket.

But that's what Lost is about... it is about BOTH the situation in which our survivors have found themselves but also who they were before they arrived on the island.

Personally, I am very interested in the latter. I like they way in which their pasts influence their present and show an interconnectedness to everything that existed prior to their internment on the island.

You know, when they intimated the rest of the tail-section survivors were dead, the first thing that popped into my mind was the Donner party and cannibalism.

I think the Others have had their brains scambled by either the electromagnetism thing or the effects of the psychological experiments... maybe both.

I naturally thought "The Others got them", but I guess that's not a safe thing to assume with this show :)

Lost has really surprised me. After the season finale, I thought "yeah, they lost me." The situation in the Hatch and some of the other things that are happening have gotten me addicted again, though :)

I just hope they don't drag the "Jin/Mike/Sawyer with the tail section, no one knows they're alive and on the island" story too far. I'm eager for the reunion :)

On a side note, this story makes Sawyer seem a bit softer to me. If Sawyer was real, he'd attack the guy.. or spend the rest of his life hunting for him ;)

When Hurley was asleep at the computer, dreaming he was gorging on the food in the food pantry, he was drinking from a milk carton.
Jin shows up out of nowhere and Hurley turns around while drinking, and the camera shows a side view of Hurley holding the carton up, with Walt's face on the side.
That's when Jin tells him 'things are going to change'.

Oh, and the guy in the chicken-suit shows up, too. :D

Something occurred to me last night, considering it was a Sydney to LA flight, there aren't many Aussies that survived the flight...

I've been on the Sydney to LA flight about 4 times... on each flight, there have been very few Aussies on board...

In last night's episode Jin says something to Michael to get him to turn around. Does anyone know what he said? I listened to it 3x and couldn't figure it out.

Are you talking about when Jin puts his hand on Michael's shoulder? Because I took that to be "You are important."

Jins command of the english language seems to have made a huge jump since the last episode...

I was talking about that earlier with my friend. I guess the writers are trying to make him more accessible as a character, but he has been learning English awfully fast.
