Yes I both know what you are talking about and have interest in watching it.
Haven't really seen too much preview wise, but after, sex and the City, Oz, Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, Entourage, Mind of a Married Man, Dream On ( all that come to mind right now), I will watch it in great hopes that it will be half as good as most of those.Which would still be very good. Is this a great time to have a TV or what.. plus we finally just got HBO HD up here in Anchorage... now if we could get some local channels.. grrrrrrrr.

A friend of mine works for HBO, so she's already seen a preview. She says that it actually looks pretty good, and has already Tivo'd it... since she's not a pushover, I'm willing to bet it's pretty good.
![]() I have it Tivo'd too....

My friend works for HBO so I saw the first episode. I wasn't really impressed...it didn't grab me the way other HBO original programming has done. He had episodes 2 and 3 and I didn't bother to watch them either.
I'll probably Tivo it and rewatch...I usually don't like to form an opinion on a show until I've seen it twice.

I watched it the other night and it was pretty good, I'll give it a few episodes to get going. There are so many characters it takes a bit to catch on to who's who and who's doing what.
I had the same reaction to Deadwood, it took a couple of episodes for me to get into it. Now Deadwood is my fav show.. |

I did watch the premiere... and spaced out in the middle, not bothering to finish. It's on the Tivo, so I'll give it another shot, but I was not overly impressed. A lot of assumed knowledge, which even if you have that, it STILL wasn't all that interesting. I dunno.

This is certainly not up to the standards of The Sopranos or Six Feet Under. Its rather dry and dull. Its unfortunate. I can only hope and pray that Extras is better than this

Two episodes in and I think it's going to be alright. It's still a bit dry, but it looks like it's going to get better.
spoiler: Spoiler: Did you see Titus Pullo stab that guy through the throat at the bar? That was great. I thought that was going to be the highlight of the episode until the doctor started drilling into his head.

Wow, olitics at it's best.. to see the wheels turning between Caesar and Pompey is great. Another thing I enjoy is seeing things i thought were modern. Lucius used a claw hammer to put up Caesar's proclamation, and I would have guessed that was a couple of hundred years old at best.

The more I see of this show, the more I like it.
Just a few thoughts... The political manuevering between Pompey and Caesar is enthralling. Caesar's niece, Atia (Polly Walker) is one stone cold chick This last episode didn't have near enough Pullo in it for my tastes.

The woman who plays Niobe, Indira Varma was in a movie about 10 years ago called Kama Sutra: A tale of love.
There are quite a few excellent pictures of her floating around out there, if you care to find them. ![]()
