Yikes, I'm going to stop looking at this thread if it's going to involve spoilers. I HATE it when people publish the results of Survivor before it airs. What the hell is the fun in that?

Yeah I didn't intend to spoil the tread Derwood. I was just posting a resource for those who may want to "read ahead." I would hope that the majority of TFP'ers would use the Spoiler: Spoiler tags where nessecary, guesses like Shani's don't need to be hidden (cause she's wrong)

i know you didn't, i'm just saying that once people post a resource like that, accidents will happen. unfortunately, i've see the spoiler tag not used when it should have been in other threads

Derwood makes a good point, I have removed my link to the spoiler site from my earlier post. If anyone really wants to know who is about to get booted off Survivor or whatever, you can google it pretty easily (or you can PM me I guess.)
But let me reiterate.... mark your spoilers

Thanks. Usually the lack of spoilers happens in some "favorite movie ending" thread or what have you where people just blurt out the ends of movies I haven't seen. I tend to steer clear of those these days

I thought Jeff looked sexy as always (I dont wanna say much else yet since not everybody has seen it) I will say that one tribe seems to be full of men that are...well...um subject to dehydration

Remember your spoiler tags, folks.
Pretty interesting start. How many thousands of years ago was the Mayan empire, anyway? Jeff kept saying thousands, like it was more than a couple. Spoiler: Too bad about Jim. He seemed like a good guy. That's a harsh way to get voted off.

The players seem like a pretty down to earth bunch; not the overabundance of bikini models and LA bartenders you see on other reality shows. I like them and it looks like i'll continue to tune in.

As for how long with the tag after that, I don't know. Our non-US TFPers don't get the show until weeks or months after we do, so I guess it's up to them. I enjoyed the show last night. Spoiler: For the first time since the Amazon (and Africa before that), I genuinely felt that the environment was providing a hardship on the castaways. They always paid lipservice to the bugs and heat and stuff before, but besides being tired, those tribes didn't seem to suffer too much. Here, there were several people whom the producers had to seriously think about stepping in and providing medical assistance for (and who knows, maybe they did when the cameras were off). If these physical hardships continue, it will be a lot less about petty squabbling and high school back stabbing and more about true survival. Last night they showed zero strategizing prior to the first vote, simply because the campsite resembled a triage more than a gameshow.

I'm also glad that the environment is actually an obstacle as opposed to a place of healing and serenity.
I hope there's more nudity as the show progresses. Some okay looking women out there including SWEET SWEET STEPHENIE. I am glad she finally won immunity! Bobby Jon was looking pretty pathetic last night, I gotta say!

Personally, my take on the whole spoiler thing - and what we've kinda done in seasons past - is, that anything that has appeared on TV is fair game to write about. Anything that you've read on the internet and has not been confirmed on TV is a spoiler.
The West Coast people need to steer clear of this thread for the 3 hour difference that we have seen the show and they havnt. That seems only fair. As discussion heats up on this thread it will be nearly impossible to make a post without 'spoiling' things that have been on TV. Everyone agree?

Thanks Daval....I was seriously thinking about having to bow out of the thread because it seemed the rules were changing...so yes I agree....IF for some reason I had to miss an episode I came here for an update to see what I missed first even before going to the CBS website

BTW, I was thrilled that Steph and Bobby-Jon are back, I really liked both from Palau. I'm rooting for Steph the whole time now.
What a gruelling hike! I felt bad the old guy got voted out as well, but he was the most logical candidate - the other guys were dehydrated, that can be fixxed with a couple of days moderate rest, lots of fluids and food. A torn bicep will make the old guy useless for weeks.

So, if what they say is true (about dangerous animals being in every body of water), will there be no swimming challenges? Will all water challenges involve boats?

I only wrote about the events of Survivor because it was Friday night by that point. Whoever hasn't seen it by then... sorry. It's fair game...
If you miss the show, have it taped, and haven't seen it yet, that's not my responsibility. It's yours to not look here. Anyway, I think all of this has been adequately expressed.

I guess we know why all the contestants are fairly young, this looks as if it's gonna get brutal. Me likey.
PS Perhaps my favorite bit of Survivor is Jeff's hands switching from up to down when he says "Survivors ready.... GO!!" Anyone else?

Wow, the board is pretty dead. I guess we dont really know the players too well yet. Anyway, i thought it was funny when the radio dj girl from the other tribe recognized the one dude as an NFL QB. And then he denies it to his own tribe. I think this is going to come back to bite him in the arse. Probably more for denying it, not because of his physical ability. He's old and doesnt do very good in the challenges. Anyway, i was glad to see the princess go last week even though she was eye candy. I just didnt want to see the other girl go, cause she's been working so hard and she hasnt stirred up any trouble yet.
I'll be rootin for Steph all season. Hope she doesnt go early. She's going to have a big target on her head the whole time. |

That guy is going to get kicked off the instant people find out they were lied to. The thing is, everyone is lying; when you do something so blatant as to lie like that, you allow people to use it as an excuse to get you off, therefore saving their skin. That old quarterback dude better hope he is a swing vote when people find out, but even then he'll be the next to go. Why not tell the truth? "I'm an old washed up NFL quarterback that was picked for this show to expand the over 40 male demographic..." Mud tug-of-war was cool, but I thought that there would be more result than everyone lying down and digging in!

I agree, the moment Gary denied he was a ex-QB, I thought "he's screwed", especially if theres a tribal trade or a merge and he ends up on the same side as her. Yeah, he was an NFL quarterback, but he's not exactly a household name...
I gotta give that radio girl (Danni I think is her name) props for even recognizing the guy. Also for having one of the best looking and fit bodies I've seen... |

Yeah, that Danni's six pack is sick.
I already forget the name of that chick who got voted off last night, but she was probably the most useless contestant next to Amber Birkch (sp) on Survivor. I know you all saw her at the immunity challenge... WHAT A USELESS TIT! And then to have the gall to say I did my best. I tried my hardest????? WHAT THE FUDGE??? Poor Stephenie. Her tribe is so pathetic compared to the other one... All the guys and all the girls are completely useless. She is so hot...

Agreed. That was one of the most fun Immunity Challenges they've had though. The thing that keeps Survivor from getting stale is the constant creativity in the challenges. Sure, they will always have the "stand on a log forever" or "eat gross stuff" challenges, but they usually do a good job at drawing from the culture and making challenges new and unique. Cork Ball was great because it was a total team effort, and Steph's tribe lost because not everyone on the team was participating.

I agree about it being a great challenge. I don't know though, that lady that rolled her ankle, and actually heard pops. Yeah she is good at hiding it when she walks, but if it is injured at all bad, good luck with any type of running.
And dang 114 degrees and they can't jump in the water. Seriously when they all jumped in from the boat, I thought one of them was going to die. Their could easily be hundreds in that lake. |

That was a great challenge....If I recall one of my history classes, corkball was an extremely violent game.
This week there will be another "Survivor First!!", seems like they have 4-5 Survivor firsts every season, but it'll make it interesting...I hope... |

Is it just me or did Stephenie's tribe actually get worse than it was before??? That girl has no luck at all!
Was the Survivor first the tribe switch? Cause that wasn't a first. They do that every year. Before long they'll be saying the stupid 'letters from home' will be a new twist...

About the tribe swap. I thought it was WAY too early. And I think it unbalanced the teams as well. The easy thing now would be just to stick with the old tribal lines and vote off the minority. Who knows if they will do that, but it would be an easy way out.
And also, it sure is early on in the season to just be giving them free food at the end of challenges. I wonder if they are finding it to be a more rugged environment then they thought in the planning stages of the show. You'll have to agree 115 degrees and humid every day would suck... |

Still rooting for Steph. I believe she is the best overall person to ever play the game. No alliances, no coat-tail riding. Just hard work and a good mind.
P.S. I would pay $500 to have 160 feet of cloth wrapped around the two of us - even if she hasn't showered in 3 weeks. That girl makes me feel funny - I can even forgive the Yankee accent!

I salivate over any camera time spent on Steph while in a bathing suit. Even though she's looking a little emaciated and a little dirtier this time around, man she's still hot.
Too bad for Brian. I got suckered by the editing last night, although I knew he was going to be out because they spent so much camera time on him. Jamie and Bobby Jon are going to go at it. It's going to rock. Wrestlemania in Guatemala.

There is someone every season who makes me think "Damn, I have to watch that asshole for at least another hour!" This year's winner - Jamie. What a dick.
Unfortunately, it made sense. If you keep a two person lead on the other tribe, they have to sway two people for a tie - hence a conspiracy and complete breakdown in alliance. It is MUCH easier to sway just one. So, now they can make it 5 to 3 next week by booting Jamie. One can only hope.

Steph is a cute one. My wife thought she was the best the last time around but now can't stand her. I still think she is the one to watch. I hope she makes it to the end. It would be funny if Bobby John and her make it to the end together.
