Enron : The Smartest guys in the room

I just got back from seeing the biography on the rise and fall of Enron, pretty incredible how much fraud can be perpertrated by those people. But what suprised me the most about the whole story was the involvement of every single name brand bank and investment company on wall street they all have "blood on their hands" so to speak and according to the movie are faceing a huge class action law suit. The only part of the movie i did not like was the way they tried to make our former governor Gray Davis out to be the victim of a bush-lay-shwarzenneger conspiracy. I have lived in california my whole life and can attest that gray davis was a victim of his own stupidity, not of a republican conspiracy. But besides that it was quite an interesting movie and i reccomend it

I saw some clips on the Henry Rollins Film Corner show on IFC. He was getting pretty worked up about it.

Yeah u have to see the film to really get a good grasp of how badly those men screwed their employees the state of california and the american economy, i also found it funny that it was president bush's friend ken Lay that helped to almost destroy the american economy in 2000

why is it unreasonable to contribute a lot of Davis's downfall to Enron? It was a brilliant scheme they put together.

DJ Twombley made a great Enron remix:

But I digress....I got such a kick out of these Enron trader conversations that I decided to take portions of the audio clips and incorporate them into a remix of a song that seemed pretty topical: Snap!'s big 1990 hit "The Power". I uploaded the mp3 file here in case anyone is interested in hearing it.

wow.

I just came back from the local indie theater and watched this...Wow.....The tragedy of the Californian rolling blackouts was amazing and I was too young and naive back then to pay much attention to the situation when it was in the development [2000-1]. That was an issue I think that deserves even more attention. If I were a Californian, I'd be extremely bitter and pissed as a result. Did anyone notice the meeting that arnold [when grey davis was still Cal. governor] had with the enron exec's and the contents of what happened at that meeting was held under wraps, and still is ?
