North by North Quohog - Family Guy Season 4 Eppy 1
Hey guys,
I have come across the first episode in the new season. Apparently there was a DVD screener floating around and as usual got to the internet. I must say THANK GOD (if you believe in that sort of thing... I really don't! ) that it is back. In this first ep it is true Family Guy. Nothing much has changed. One thing I noticed was Chris' voice sounded a little off, even though Seth Green is still doing the voice. I will just tell you the opening sequence it was pretty good. Peter: Everybody I've got bad news... we've been cancelled. Lois: Oh no Peter how could they do that? Peter: Well unfortunately Lois theres just no more room on the schedule we have to except that fact that FOX has to make room for terrific shows like... [this is where Peter lists (for 33 seconds) like 30~40 shows from FOX all that didn't run for very long]. Lois: Is there no hope? Peter: Well I suppose if all those shows go down the tubes we might have a shot. Cue theme music! Brilliant. Show starts May 1st kiddies. And don't ask where I got this from rules forbid it! If you are net savy you can find it! Cheers!

Wow, that was a great episode. My favorite part was in the beginning when they are driving and he gets her to wake up. It's great they didn't miss a beat with this new episode.

download it. i heard that since this was just a dvd screener, it's possible that the aired episode could be altered with some bits being taken out. imdb has kiefer sutherland listed in the credits (possibly b/c of the 24 promo they did) but i wonder if that's gonna sub for something else or be in a future show.

How'd you all feel about the new computer animation? I gotta tell you, the scene in which Peter and Lois are in the car, I immediately noticed it and wasn't sure how I felt. I vacilate between not liking it and not really caring.

I think I'm the first to post who saw it the legitmate way (ie on TV).
The show hasn't missed a beat. Classic Family Guy humor. Too bad American Dad isn't as funny (yet)

2nd to post who saw it on TV for the first time!
It was great. Not the best, but still very solid. So many funny parts though. I'm glad it's back. That list in the beginning shows you Fox has no idea what their doing when it comes to TV. Oh and American Dad seems too similar to FG. It's like the same exact comedy, just different characters. Not sure if I like it yet. |

interesting, i saw it different. i think the characters are too similar for it to survive on its own, but the comedy is different. (alien: stewie, fish: brian then the family) it's not laugh-out-loud funny, but it's more subtle. the politics of it also gives is a different spin. by the end of AD, though, i was picking up some FG-esque comedy. btw, the "hit the stud" killed me for some reason

They had the greased up deaf guy.. what more could you want?
It wasn't the best FG episode later.. and their voices seem a bit rought.. but it was still good, I was very happy with it. AD was alright, it'll improve I imagine.. |

I just watched it this afternoon.
I was never a really big fan of Family Guy, but if the first episode is indicative of the whole season, I might have to change my tune. BTW, I watched it with a group of people and when the GI Joe joke came on all the fellows laughed and all the women looked at us like we were mentally retarded.

On all accounts, I love family guy!, great episode last night, I gotta say though, my favorite part was in the beginning where peter said he doesnt know why jesus just sat there and took the beating, and that he would have handled the whole thing differently, then it cuts to a jesus looking peter and tells the guy to stop it, ,, haha, I loved it. had me rolling. Can't wait for the new season, and even more, for the new season to come out on DVD.!

i enjoyed AD. i think the show needs a few weeks to (hopefully) distinguish and develop the characters (especially roger and claude or whatever, who just have a few too many brian/stewie characteristics right now). i also think the show will find trouble quickly because it alienates a big chunk of the population up front (conservatives who can't take a joke). still, i thought it was subtle, clever, political, and had just enough of the over-the-top, laugh-out-loud can't-stop-hyphenating-stuff type of comedy to keep people reeled in.

Ha ha did anyone watch last night's episode?? I'm usually not a big fan of family guy (especially the final season) but these new episodes are simply hilarious. I was laughing the entire time.
*God just caught the bar on fire with lightning, trying to impress a girl* God: "JESUS CHRIST!!" Jesus: "Yes my father?" God: "Get the Escalade. We're outta here!!!" There's so many parts in that episode that made me laugh so hard that I had tears in my eyes. People are saying it "sucks" because it's on Fox...BS. The show is funnier than it has ever been. -Lasereth

Lasereth, I totally agree with you on that one, Family Guy is just the same as it has ever been.
American Dad however... it's just not quite there. I sort of feel like I'm watching "Don't Be A Menace in south central..." except that the guy never shows up that says "message". It just feels like they are pushing too hard on their political agenda parody. While I agree with their ideas ( or, I guess, the parody of the ideas they present), it just seems forced. |

It's brilliant. I used to watch the DVDs and almost get sad, thinking that there were never going to be any new episodes. Man, I'm glad I was wrong...
