Heard about it. Won't watch it. G4 really managed to screw up a good outlet for information about technology (TechTV) by changing it to an all games channel, but that's another thread, I suppose.

I don't mind some extra game shows icons, and x-play is pretty good and filter is sometimes entertaining, but they really should replace shows like judgement day and cinematech with technology shows. As for attack of the show, I don't see any difference between it and tss so i guess i don't have much of a problem with it.

No difference between that and TSS? Are you fucking kidding me? Attack of the Shit and TSS are as much alike as Cannibal Corpse and Enya. I've given G4 the benefit of the doubt on the new TSS for many months now, I just can't take this anymore. I watched it once. Never again.

Having never seen TechTV I don't share some people's enthusiastic fandom, but I do know how generally lame most G4 programming is(something that hasn't changed since day one of the network). However, I take issue with begforme2's comment on cinematech; it's actually the only show on G4 I enjoy, mainly because it's not hosted by some abraisive geek.

So sad.
I didn't think TSS could get much worse after G4 revamped it and moved it to Los Angeles. It's nice to see the programming execs at G4 were able to shatter my lowest expectations. Cinematech and X-Play are about the only things worth watching, despite the fact that Sessler and Webb are now schilling for Gamefly on the show.

I only awtch X-Play, Cinematech, and Icons (if they're covering a good game).
All they do on Attack of the Shit is show stupid websites. I can come here or hop onto another forum to find crazy websites. I remember the days when actual important people in the tech community were on the show, and actual technology was featured. Now why are no-name (albeit once in awhile decent) bands and musicians on the show? The absolute only good thing coming from the demise of TechTV and The Screen Savers is that my autographed picture of Leo Laporte and Kate Botello on the original TSS set, with "ZDTV" written in the corner, is truly worth something. I ain't gettin rid of that.

I yell at my roommate every time I see him with G4 on in the background out of habit. No one should be giving that station the time of day.

I was very sad to see TechTV go the way that it did. I was lucky enough to attend a taping of The Screen Savers a couple of years ago when Pat and Leo were still there. I am the proud owner of a Technology Almanac, graciously signed by Leo Laporte, and he talked to my friend and I for more than a few minutes.
But I digress. Shows like Big Thinkers, The Tech Of, Fresh Gear, Call For Help, and now, the very last urine-stained remnants of The Screen Savers just vanished without so much as a "fuck you, viewers". As stated earlier, very sad.

I love Judgement Day. I don't subscribe to any gaming magazines, and besides ign.com, it's my one place to see some perspectives on the latest games. I know that Victor and Tommy are predictable, but I find it entertaining.

Cheat! is a pretty good show and they have added a couple of car shows which, although focused on drifiing, are halfway decent. As for Cinematech, I love that show, I can't explain why though.

Cheat takes GameFAQs and draws it out into a half-hour segment. Worthless. The only thing it'd be good for is showing tricky cheats/glitches, like SMB1's zero world, or the Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire cheat. You know, where you have to wave the joystick halfway back and forth? But I'm not watching it long enough to find out.
AOTS I've watched twice. It's like G4 decided that everyone who watched their network must be <12 and adjusted the show accordingly. Oh, wait. They're probably right. |

Sarah (check out my painfully tight shirt) Lane: "Yeah, that rocks." I've been flipping through and have found Icons, which isn't all that bad when they cover something interesting. So....that brings the total up to three? Icons, X-play and Cinematech? Wow, was that a successful merger/revamp or what?

I watch Attack of Show if i got nothing else to do. I dont think its that bad. They do get a little corny sometimes though. I like it better than TSS cause its not all about computers.
My favorite is Judgement Day. I used to watch Xplay, but Morgan Webb really got on my nerves. They never should have put her in the show. She ruined it. Arena is pretty cool if they would switch up the games a little more often. I can only watch Call of Duty so many times. |
