Deadwood: Season 2
New season, first episode.
A brilliant episode, in my opinion. You got Bullock meeting with Alma, trying to keep it on the down-low while being married to his dead brother's widow... Then you got Swearengen with either kidney stones or gall stones, and a more than usual bad and murderous temper... Then you got a whole slew of side-stories going on; with new whores, old whores, new scores, old scores...yadda-yadda-yadda Spoiler: So cocksuckers, what'd you think of "A Lie Agreed Upon, pt. 1"? Damn, I thought we'd have at least one killin' between the fighters, but n-o-o-o, just a few bullet wounds and contusions. What did you think of the mistaken shooting at the other bar? Bullock's handling of it kinda tickled my funny-bone. And a drunken, sleeping Calamity Jane on her horse, gets startled by the stage rolling by, raises up and yells, "Cocksuckers!" Then passes back out. *snooze* (hehehe, great little scene) I'm glad I record these. It's so fast paced at times you gotta go back and catch stuff you missed the first time. You get a chance to see it, TOK?

I have been eagerly awaiting this season since the last ended.
I first heard this season was gonna air in January, but the wait was well worth it. Do ya think that Al and Bullock will soon be on the same page .. at least as far as common interests .. anytime soon. And my first thought was the clap.. but it's prolly kidney stones.

I must admit to being an addict to this show (along with other HBO originals) and was not disappointed with the opener. Did you see the previews for "Rome"? Side note: The real city of Deadwood has a really cool website with a lot of info about the characters we see in the show. LINK #1 and LINK #2

You are right about having to record it. I TiVo it. If you play the sound loud enough to hear all the mumbled dialogue the whole house get's filled with 'COCKSUCKER, MOTHERFUCKER....'.
Al's two flunkies are already playing a big role. Gonna be interesting to see how that plays out. I forget the guys name who is Al's highwayman but I see him being the next big shot.

I am deliriously pleased to hear that the second series kicks ass as much as the first, which I bought on DVD and have been viewing compulsively ever since.
Given that I live in Australia, I'm sure the second season will come out in about 2020... |
