I actually really like Susan but Patrick is a prick for sure. Who goes into a race expecting to lose. Speaking of expecting to lose, don't expect this team to:
Spoiler: Uchenna and Joyce Agu. Earlier this month, Sportsbook.com announced that it had halted betting on the winner of CBS' "The Amazing Race 7" after detecting a sharp increase in money placed on the two-some. Last year, Bodog.com stopped wagers on "The Amazing Race 6" after someone staked a huge amount on contestants Freddy Holliday and Kendra Bentley so I'd probably consider them to be a fairly safe bet. Spoiler: Guess Amber and Rob get beaten, it wouldn't surprise me if their defeat was a combined effort.

I read the spoilers above and hope they are wrong, I'd far rather see R&A win, they are awesome. From 5th to first? I love them!
I'm glad that the mother/son are gone, they annoyed the hell outta me, the mom wasnt so bad, but the son was just obnoxious. I thought the part at the beginning where the brothers kept vowing to make no mistakes and immediately missed hte exit and went to far was hillarious. The grandparents are also lucky as hell to be still in the race - they were kinda dumb yesterday with following whatshisface and his wife. That guy (who's name escapes me) is annoying as hell, the way he was ragging on everyone and his wife - I'd love to see the granparents beat him. Too bad though, cause his wife seems nice. Next weeks episode looks pretty good. Blood and car crashes - woot!

Wow, I didn't realize there was actually betting on these shows for real money. I know they have the whole contract on not telling anyone, but c'mon. Someone knows who won, and somebody probably has spilled the beans.

I liked the fact that in this episode all the teams didn't have a chance to completely bunch up together. Having the second flight four hours after the first one clearly separated the contenders from the pretenders. Hopefully more episodes will be like this, that way teams that win get rewarded for it, while teams that struggle have to really scramble to make up time.

I posted about that same thing earlier. And my thoughts were with you guys, that they should be able to get big leads. But then I didn't like this ep as much. I think it was because it was a scheduled flight that screwed them up. Because the show said some people would be 5 hours behind, that's what happened.
I'd rather see teams get way behind because they screw up a challenge, or something like that. |

Looking forward to the 2hr episode tomorrow, the preview looked good.
Have you guys heard that next season is going to be "Family" Amazing Race, where the teams have 4 members? Personally I don't know why they'd mess with a good thing.. Could be entertaining though.

I heard that same thing. Doing the AR with kids? Hell, I can't do the 1 hour drive to the cottage without a 'are we there yet?' before we get to the end of our street,.
I just see it being really annoying :P

I'm with this AR, all I'll be with the next AR, kids and all.
I'm putting my money on this week being a non-elimination week. Plus I am leaning towards this being the bunching back up week. They tried to do it last week, but I think they knew it would be too obvious. Time for another, leave at 1am but not be able to do task until 10am.

I agree Bones. I thought it would be last week, but this week will probably be non-elim. Plus today's episode is 2 hours with a bunch of drama, and probably bunching, so they made it all suspenseful only to probably hear at the end "Fortunately, this is a non-elimination leg."

Thank god Ray and Deana are out, it wasn't getting hard for me to not say "fuck you" every time Ray opened his damned mouth. Seriously, I hope Deana watches this and then leaves him.

Otherwise I am so glad the brothers made it, I like those two, they are funny as hell. Nasty looking cut on gretchens forehead, kudo's to them for coming through in a fairly high spot the following day - I hope they are gone soon though! Rob and Amber I am still rooting for! They didnt dominate like they did in previous legs of the race, but they are still going strong.

Well, by the time R&A wnet by there was two cars there already and a bunch of milling around - noone seemed to be panicking, I guess they could have slowed down but at that point things looked to be under control.
Once i saw another team was at the fast forward I woulda left immediately and not stuck around, I think they made a mistake there.

Rob is such an ass but I still think he's the best. I also really like the old couple. They have such a great attitude and so much competitive spirit.
I'm sick of the gay guys and I'm also sick of the other teams bitching about R&A. I also really like Uchena and his wife. I was really happy to see Ray and Deena gone. I hope he watched that and saw how poorly he treated and spoke of her. |

Agreed, this is what he said. In defence of them though, Meredith is a seriously odd name for a guy, a couple of teams commented on the name this episode saying meredith is the guy.

Again, I liked Rob & Amber before the last episode. They could have at least slowed, rolled down their window, and asked "Is everything ok?" as the other teams did. To me, the game stopped for a moment and they should have recognized this. Whether or not there is creative editing against R&A doesn't make a difference to me. I try to view the people in shows like "The Amazing Race" as characters, not "real" people. (Mostly because I think that there is heavy, creative editing). So, whether or not they slowed or stopped in reality makes no difference to me, but the characters created by the show did not stop, and I don't approve of that. All of that said, it would be a boring show if I was rooting for every team to win. I enjoy the conflict and anger that R&A create. It makes for good TV. |

I rooted for Rob and Amber in Survivor All Star, I'm rooting for them now. They play the game smarter than anyone (in both shows) and know how to get things done. Plus they are playing up their "celebrity", which is smart (if not entirely fair)

I'm wondering if Rob will find a way to get teams to fight against each other. He was very good at saying just the right things to people to stir up confrontations. There was a survivor ep where he got 2 men to argue and he just sat there in the water with a smirk. It was one of my favorite survivor moments.

Well, I guess I'm obligated to root for the "home team", the gay guys from West Hollywood who were described by my roommate as "SO flaming" while first watching the show. But they are definitely annoyingly catty and have an unnatural obsession with beating Rob and Amber. I was most disappointed to see Debbie and Bianca go. I had to respect them after chowing down that 4 pounds of meat, and it HAD to be a blow to Rob's ego for the girls and the gay guys to finish while he didn't even though he "survived" anyway. So I think even though they already got one million on Survivor, I have to say Rob and Amber are my favorite team too for their sheer ability. Ron and Kelly and Uchenna and Joyce have no personality and the other teams are walking stereotypes (not to mention the hillbillies, Barbie girls, and gay son and mother ). Anyway I really watch the show for the travel/adventure aspect, not because I think this makes too great of a competition.

your post made me think of the pairings. They sure got just about every cliche into the cast:
the super gay couple the macho brothers the amiguously gay hot chicks the other hot chicks the old people that never quit the token black couple the rednecks the dysfunctional couple not bad |

I thought last nights episode was decent. Again R&A kicked ass, they are by far the best team in my opinion. I thought the balance on the head detour was kinda funny, noone could do it except for uchenna and joyce and they kicked ass.
The gay dudes comments that 'they were born to do this challenge' or something was a bit funny. The animals they all saw were just freaking amazing, my god. I'd love to go there. The brothers unfortunately are gone, but they quite frankly deserved to be. Oh well. Cleavage was happening too in a big way with the POW's dudes girlfreind. That was a good thing.

I thought that last night's episode was a bit boring. I did like Joyce & Uchenna kicking ass on the balancing task. They work well together. The gay couple was very supportive of one another as well. The POW couple is melting down. Hopefully, there will be more conflict there.
I also liked the brothers showing up at the end in swimsuits, winter hats, and scarves. It would have been great if they continued to the next leg. (Though someone would have probably given them clothes). |

So long to the Brothers Dim. I so wanted it to be a non-elimination round, and then have the next destination be Antarctica.
