Being past your prime doesnt seem to stop people from cleaning up in the WWE. They are good showmen. Thats all it takes. Are you telling me Flair is at his peak? He still always seems to get a big match on RAW. The booze issue with Scott Hall is what makes it a shame. There is no excuse for that. He should get cleaned up is what is a shame. Mick Folley is running around getting his ass kicked, he isnt exactly a physical specimen. If the non physical issues (and this includes booze) with them were sorted out they could have easily been a staple of the WWE for quite some time...

I really liked Hall's style of wrestling. Nash on the other hand was a complete bore.
Here is Nash's M.O. 1. Punch the bad guy... bad guy falls down... Nash walk around for 15 seconds. 2.Whip bad guy into corner.... walk around 15 seconds. 3.Put boot on bad guy's throat while bad guy is still in corner..... walk around 15 seconds. 4. Do the little picture frame with his hands then elbow the bad guy in the corner..... walk around 15 seconds. 5.Take bad guy out of the corner... whip him to against ropes.... big boot. walk waround 15 seconds. 6. Make powerbomb sign..... pick bad guy up off mat.. powerbomb him.... then pin him lazily. Match Over. Nash would would almost put me to sleep whenever he came on. He was basically a Big Show with grey hair that never took bumps. I have no idea how he has any injuries, but somehow he does.

I liked Hall ans Nash, personally, I found them very entertaining when they were in WWF a long time ago ahd in WCW as the Outsiders/nWo. But on a side note, Scott Hall has dyed his hair blonde, and it looks very different on him, to say the least.

I think that the WWE is heading in the right direction, with the talent levels of the younger guys (and gals) coming up in the ranks.
Shelton is a hell of a wrestler, I saw him at a smackdown taping 2 weeks ago, and he's pretty good. Yeah, they are tossing the Rock in with Foley against Randy/Batista.... Dammit, it needs to be a hell in the cell match with Foley beating the dog snot out of Randy all match long. If the WWE is going to establish Randy as the future, he needs to take an ass whooping as well as giving one. It could get Randy over as a face who finally has a change of heart or something like that and then Foley could "snap" and go out with a bloody finale and a victory against the Legend Killer.??? What do you guys think about that scenario?

If a hell in a cell match is planned between Foley and Orton, I agree that Foley should be dishing out the beating. For one thing, his body can't possibly be in any condition to take crazy bumps during a match. But they can't risk Orton's future by having him pull a King of the Ring '98. They would have to go in the direction of the Brock/Taker HIC from No Mercy 2002, with no obscene bumps, just good ol fashioned blood and guts. There may be some problems, however. If Orton wins, then Foley comes out looking like a washed out has-been, being punked out almost every week by Orton and Evolution. If Foley wins, there's the possibility that Orton may lose all the steam from his push. But I do like the possibilities that can come from your ending, Spike. Foley turns Psycho, whipping out flaming barb-wire bats and beds of nails, and Orton is slaughtered after putting up a valiant effort. Foley leaves with his integrity and legend intact, while Orton leaves by his own power, bloody and near-dead, to a standing ovation. |

What the...another multi-person match? First it's the triple threat for the Heavyweight title, now there's a "cruiserweight open"? Both on theWrestlemania XX card? Are they trying to get more talent per square inch or what? Or am I just loosing it?

They just want everyone to get into the big WM20 card, which actually hurts the product. Good intentions with potentially bad results.

I guess so..it seems a "more talent per square inch of ring" attitude is prevaling. At least until someone realizes that you can't have the quality matches (especially the cruiserweight) that way.

That's the prolem when you have so many people on the roster...Vince is trying to squeeze time in for talents from 3 feds all working under the WWE banner...that adds to lots of multi-person matches

Lord no, don't make it cross-promotional; Spike Dudley will find a way in it then!
Well, Hurricane would get to wrestle, too...eh, it evens out. Go for it, I say.

Heard this morning on CNN (of all places) that Pete Rose will be doing a guest spot in WrestlMania XX...guess it's for the WWE hall of fame thing. Anyone hear of any other "guest stars"?

Considering the Cruiserweight championship is a Smackown title, I doubt it will be interpromotional. I personally think WrestleMania XX is shaping up to be nice.

I'm tired of Cruiserweights.
Just got to thinking about that, it just seems like its the same 2 or 3 guys sharing the belt, and they are like Mysterio, Tajiri (but he is still a hell of a wrestler) and Chavito, and they just pass it around now and then. Never a guy like Shannon Moore or any of the others. Sure Rey is a good wrestler and all that, but I just read the last post and realized I'm bored of the direction the cruisers are going in....

Yep, the one thing that WCW did right was they let the cruiserweights do their thing. Vince wants them to wrestle the WWE style so they don't outshine the main eventers. If Vince saw Chavo/Rey at No Way Out, he must know the cruiserweights can put on a hell of a match, and he's got such a huge talent pool wasting away on Velocity and dark matches while guys like Mr. Ass and Hardcore Holly get TV time.

WCW's cruiserweight division was phenominal ! Back in the days of Jericho, Juvi, Chavo (with pepe), Mysterio, and Kidman there really was nothing more exciting than a cruiserweight matchup.

Vince would have a solid goldmine going if he'd freaking back off the Triple HHH bandwagon and allow wrestlers like RVD, Jericho, and some of the others loose.
Jericho could be every bit as big as HBK as could RVD with the right push. I mean thier personas on the mike and the action they put in is direly needed from these main eventers that Vince has held on to for too long.

But when you are HHH and you are banging the hell out of the boss' daughter, you get to have some sort of pull I suppose...
I'd try for some pull if I was on Steph too! She's nice....mmmm...

I also noticed vince's got this "big guy" thing..Kane, Big Show, that australian what-his-name. The big guys are big, but there's only so many choke slams I can watch before I get bored.
Watching Rey Mysterio or RVD doing their thing in the ring is a lot more entertaining.

I have a few questions. What exactly happened to the crusierweight division of the WWE? It was actually starting to get better with Rey, Hardy, Tajiri and Noble on Smackdown. Was it because of the shorter times for matches, lack of exposure or general lack of interest from the higher ups? Come to think of it, what happened to Smackdown? Every Thursday there were high caliber matches from members of the "Smackdown 6" (Benoit, Angle, Misterio, Edge, Guerroro's). They were focusing more on the sport/competition part with guys like Benjamin and Haas ( I still think their name should have been "Best Damn Tag Team, Period", kinda like the foxsports show), and those matches were getting tremendous response from the crowd. Did management get tired of the style and move back to the entertainment mode? |

Rumor has it Paul Bearer may be returning with the Undertaker at WMXX, what do you all think about this? I'd personally love to see them back together. It would be like old times again.

Really?? Hercules Hernandez? Oh man, all the old ones are dropping fast.
But as far as Paul Bearer? It's good for the WWE to bring back the UnderTaker with him, because the "Dead Man" isn't the same without Paul. Hopefully they use the Undertaker better after his return, and hopefully he beats the hell out of Kane, I'm so tired of Kane it's unbelievable.

Word's coming down that Brock Lesnar has resigned, now. WM XX will be his last match. Seeing as that's supposed to be Goldberg's last as well, I wonder how they'll spin that on the respective programs?

I could see them extending Goldbergs contract with this development and having him stay on Smackdown. The match at WMXX would turn into a loser retires match.

I'm just curious. Where do you guys get all this info before it happens? Is there some reliable website with spoilers? Inside sources? It seems that someone around here always seems to know the inside scoop.

Already knew Lesnar was looking for an alternative means of making a living, but I didn't expect to see him leave so soon. WMXX being both of their last matches now, this will be interesting the following nights on RAW and SmackDown!. I'm wondering how they're gonna pull off them both leaving. Also, has anyone else heard of the possible return of the ECW as a low budget 'Brand' from WWE? What are your thoughts on this?

Lesnar: GOOD! Now Shelton Benjamin will have a chance to shine!! Get outta here you big white freak! For a guy who's never played football (College), you're going to have a piss of a time trying to get into the NFL and being successful.
WMXX Match: HAH. If I were to actually watch the PPV, I would change the channel. Lesnar - F5!! OMG F5!! Goldberg - SPEAR!! OMG SPEAR!! Lesnar - WAIT!! I"M OKAY!! NO SELL NO SELL!! Golberg - JACKNIFE!! OMG JACKNIFE!! Lesnar - OWIEE!! BROCKLOCK!! Goldberg - OWIEE!! NO SELL NO SELL!! Ring explodes and the crowd is showered with pieces of human.
