i have a semi off topic question to ask you guys. Here in Vegas the cable company in all it's infinate wisdom took away the rights to order any PPV events/ movies from customers without digital cable. One of the reasons I subscribed to cable was to order NWA shows and wrestlemania,, now i cant even do that. There are millions of people living in Las Vegas, plus millions of tourists that stay in the hotels. Does anyone else have a similar problem with their cable provider?

It kinda blows cause Vegas doesnt gicve a shit about anything that isnt gambling, or a big money maker..
In order to watch a PPV for free here, i need to go toa Strip club.. what the hell? I assumed all Hooters, or BW3's were the official WWE zones in most cities. I gues i know where i'll be during wrestlemania.. ;) Getting a lapdance!

meanSpleen 10-09-2003 05:02 PM

Hey man, you forgot to pay for for the last lapdance. No way in heck I'm giving you another freebie...

*cough cough*

anyway. Out here in SoCal, before Charter Communications buttraped Falcon Cable, we weren't even able to get PPV's due to Falcons overall suckyness. Mind that this was before digital cable was being rolled out aka 1993 and before. So we suffered, then waited, then hoped the video would be in stock at Blockbuster.

Am I the only one that doesnt LOVE RVD? Sure he's talented in ring but don't give him a mic. He's in the same boat as lance storm imo. great moves but a personality of a rock.(not The Rock) That's why he isnt a main eventer. It's not because he's a high risk. Mick Folly can work a crowd much better than RVD. I enjoy his matches and he's not getting the push he diserves. However he doesn't diserve a push to the top.

I'm starting to love Randy Orton as a heel, I cant imagine him any other way. He needs to dump HHH and Flair and get some less boring company.

Um... Did lita get implants or larger ones if she had some before?

DownwardSpiral 10-10-2003 03:20 PM

Personally, RVD would make a great champion in my opinion. He may not have the best mic skills but he has some of the best in ring skills out there in the WWE, that would make him a good champion. Benoit would be a great champion too. Goldberg is a bit iffy, seeing as all he does is spears and jackhammers.

Whoa, way off buddy. Every big move in the WWE you've ever seen done, RVD has pretty much done. And he's done much, much more. Pick any RVD vs. Sabu match and it ABSOLUTELY wins over ANY WWF/E match. It's not even close. The problem isn't just the push, it's everything about him, the WWE has absolutely no idea how to manage talent. They can create it better than anyone, but they can't manage it to save their lives. Lance Storm was actually pretty good, especially with Justin Credible. What's the first thing the WWE does? Break them up, just like all other ECW talent. They had the perfect opportunity to just carry over everyone, all the stables and such from ECW, instead they want to create their own ideas. The end result: ECW wrestlers can't get a new persona since too many WWE fans know the ECW personas, and it's too late to reassemble everyone, so almost everyone from ECW is screwed. Especially guys like Tommy Dreamer and RVD.

Its the magic of the Push-Up bra. Availible at all the places Trish Stratus shops (Stratus is guilty of pushing past their limits)

The Impact Players were a great team in ECW because Storm was the technician, and Credible was the technician/spokesman/shock value. However, once you bring that into the realm of WWE, where everything is censored, all you get is technician, and technician/spokesman. No shock value. At that point, they become like every other team out there.

Not to say that they are not talented. If you go back in time through these pages, you'll see that I adore them both. Its just that WWEifying the Impact Players just would not work.

And everyone else already said stuff that I agree with about ECW and WWE. So I'll stop here

DownwardSpiral 10-11-2003 09:21 AM

They brought back the FBI thing in a sense from ECW, so why not the Impact Players eh? I personally think WWE has some problems creating new storylines now, that's why they should have someone like me writing the storylines! Lol.

meanSpleen 10-11-2003 10:01 AM

But the FBI has a built in story line. Everyone loves Italians right? At least I do. But thats besides the point. WWE is capitalizing on the nationality aspect of wrestling. Pretty much all of the United States is Pro U.S. wrestlers. They hate everyother nationality (La Ouisistance, The Quebeccers/Mounties, Jung Dragons, Oriental Express, FBI, etc) So its easy to get heat that way.

But if you think about it, what kind of built-in story did the Impact Players have? Storm was as charasmatic as he ever was, and Credible always seemed like a cheap Stone Cold knockoff (again, read my past posts, love them both). unless the creative team actually did something creative, they would just be another generic tag team (Jindrak/Cade).

Physically, Jindrak has a lot going for him. He just needs to work on his repertoie of moves. Cade has plenty of skill, just needs to work on his look. Otherwise, they are just 2 dudes that are beating up and getting beat by an old guy and their peer (Flair/Orton).

And don't get me started on Maven.

DownwardSpiral 10-11-2003 10:17 AM

Lol, yes, true, Cade and Jindrak need some work, and Maven, he needs work too. But they should still have me at the head of he WWE creative team! lol.

Ganguro 10-13-2003 06:20 AM

im wondering why we dont see nidia in the ring anymore.. She doesnt have a wide array of moves, but all the ringwork i've seen her in has been pretty solid. Also..where are those last 2 tough enough boys? Vince letting their year contract run out in OVW?

meanSpleen 10-13-2003 06:34 PM

Nidia: As soon as she got into the WWE, she was Jaime Nobles girlfriend/valet. AND she is on Smackdown. Smackdown doesn't have the Womans championship, just the cruiserweight championship. So she really has nobody to wrestle.

The Tough Enough 3 winners: They are still in OVW. It seems like all the winners take 2 years in OVW to hone their skills. But, get ready to barf now, they are wrestling as a Tag-Team. Guess what they are called... "TOUGH ENOUGH"

*BARF*

Prophecy 10-13-2003 07:35 PM

After seeing Raw tonight, I can honestly say this has been two times in a row I've enjoyed RAW. The 6 man tag was great.

trench 10-13-2003 09:16 PM

OVW guys usually don't keep the same gimmick they had in OVW i.e. John Cena. Or was he in UPW? Anyway they're both WWE development feds.

Ganguro 10-14-2003 09:44 AM

you mean "Prototype" ? :)
I wonder if he's tired of his gimmick yet, i sure am.. Cena could be a great heel, if they stopped feeding him to the "legends" Feud with angle.. fine.. helps build cred.. frued with Mean Mark er.. Taker.. fine.. it builds cred too.. but if you do it EVERY FRIGGIN WEEK.. no one gives a shit after 2 PPV's. Randy Orton will find that out soon enough.

Speaking of Orton, how did that 8 man match go? i fell asleep after Booker T was introduced..
I cant find any recaps anywhere.

DownwardSpiral 10-14-2003 05:18 PM

Booker, Shane and the Dudleyz won when Booker put Rob Conway through a table using the Book End.

SupaPizzle 10-14-2003 08:18 PM

Who else in here hopes that they quit messing around with Booker T's career and just give him the title shot that he has earned. Seriously. They should have given him the title a few months ago when he had that short feud with HHH. He is one of the only bright spots on that show anymore, and he just got back.

Can anyone validate why they have not done a major shakeup in the WWE line-up to get rid of wrestlers that are WAY past due. (EX: Flair, Steiner, HHH, GOLDBERG, etc.,etc.) *sigh*

Vilkata 10-14-2003 09:15 PM

Raw was pretty good this week. Booker T had a great return match. The only thing I don't agree with was Stone Cold stunning Stacy. Unless they have something planned for next week they totally ruined his whole angle because Stacy never 'physically provoked' him. Hopefully we see some kind of 'suspension' like we did two weeks ago.

Also on the Austin angle. Anyone else suspecting a possible Austin heel turn and a Jericho face turn? I think possibly the seeds were planted Monday. I doubt WWE would do it because the fans love Austin but it'd be great to see :D

When they tapped their beers together. As small as it was, it was a touch, and that can be construed as an attack! :D

I don't see it. I can understand if someone (austin) is pissed that someone else (kiebler) didn't like someones (austin) beer. So that is enough justification why he'll stay a face.

And Jericho probably isn't going face anytime soon. I mean, he's back with Christian. Storm in on his case (even though Storm is injured). And he's going to start molesting Trish again. "HOW YOU DOING?" :D

Because the Marks in the arenas mark out whenever any of those 4 you named enter the arena. If they got the reaction that say... oh... Jindrak and Lance Cade get, they would be out on their butts in the snow with no pants on.

SPLEENS UNMERCIFUL MERCUFYING OF NO MERCY (guesses, hypothesis and thoughts on the matches to come on Sunday Sunday Sunday!!)

=====

1) Lesnar vs Taker - Umm... who really cares? I don't. Undertaker has been getting soft lately. And pretty boring too. Lesnar is... lesnar. Dammit. Where's Heyman when you need him? (and Lesnar needs to lay off the Tan in a Bottle)
Winner: Lesnar

2) StepHHH vs VinnieMac - ?? At least her boobs will jiggle when she hits the mat.
Winner: VinnieMac. StepHHH quits. Comes back in 5 months as a preggo waffle.

3) Big Shmo vs Guerrero - ...
Winner: Eddie, and Chavo gets in the way.

4) Cena vs Angle - Cena will finally win at a PPV. Finally.
Winner: Cena

5) Rey vs Tajiri - Hmm... it will be close. But I think Tajiri is still suffering from the ECW vinnieBacklash. Rey will win, and Tajiri falls deeper into midcard hell.

6) Benoit vs. ATrain - Didn't we see this match already? Oh yeah, that was Big Shmo and Eddie.
Winner: Benoit.

7) Test vs Steiner - This one should be good. Test is the best wrestler EVER and Scott Steiner was made to be Champion. I'm buying this PPV for this match. Screw all the other matches. I'm video taping this part only.

Validate? No. Explain? Maybe. Goldberg, big contract, big name, small chance you get rid of him. Steiner, big contract, big name, small chance you get rid of him. Flair, massive, gigantic name, a lot of pull backstage, will only leave if he wants to. Triple H, has the most pull of those four, married the bosses daughter, he's going to be like Hulk Hogan and wrestle as long as he wants, and at the same "level" (world title) for the rest of his career.

Daval 10-17-2003 05:10 AM

yo spleen, test is out for 6 weeks or so with a broken foot. I don't think that match will make the PPV :P

Plus they are raw wrestlers and this is a smackdown ppv.

meanSpleen 10-17-2003 06:40 AM

Man, can't take sarcasm can you? Why in the heck would I say that Test is the best wrestler EVER and Steiner is World Champ material?!?! :D

I just put it in there to see if anyone was really paying attention. I mean, they only fought at the past 4 PPV's and why break a streak? ;)

mattevil 10-17-2003 09:11 AM

DownwardSpiral's predictions for No Mercy

Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker (WWE Championship)

As much as I want Lesnar to lose that probably won't happen seeing as he gets a huge push after hem loses the title every time, and he won't lose the belt after one month.

Winner: Brock Lesnar

Stephanie McMahon vs. Mr. McMahon (I Quit)

This match is a waste of time, but it's the only way Steph can get away from her job to get married I guess.

Winner: Mr. McMahon

Eddie Guererro vs. Big Show (U.S Championship)

I am going to have to disagree with you on this one Spleen and go with Big Show on this one, I'm thinking he'll win and be put back in a main story somehow. That and Eddie doesn't ned two belts anyway.

Winner: Big Show

John Cena vs. Kurt Angle

I think Angle will take Cena in this match, and Cena's PPV win will elude him once more.

Winner: Kurt Angle

Rey Mysterio vs. Tajiri (Cruiserweight Championship)

Well, I got my wish, Mysterio/Tajiri 3. I'm gonna go out on a limb and pull for Tajiri on this one. I like Tajiri's new heel thing.

Winner: Tajiri

Chris Benoit vs. A-Train

Do you have to ask? Benoit all the way, A-Train needs to be cut, he sucks.

Winner: Chris Benoit (BTW, does anyone else think Benoit deserves some recognition in WWE, or am I the only one?)

Matt Hardy vs. Zach Gowen

This match is a waste of time too, unless Shannon Moore makes a mistake in interfering (which is possible) Matt Hardy has this one in the bag.

Winner: Matt Hardy

There you have it, my predictions. Now watch as I am completely off on almost all of them! I'll be sure to post the results of the PPV Sunday as I did before. Until we meet again. . .

meanSpleen 10-17-2003 08:40 PM

Oh hell, I didn't notice the V1Hardy vs. Gowan match!

Winner: V1 - duh. As much as I think Gowan is a lucky guy, it just ain't going to happen.. I'm a Mattitude follower anyway.

====

As for Benoit - goddamn give the guy some respect. He has a huge workrate, and consistantly puts on a great match. Even with the likes of Rhyno, ATrain, and all the other guys who just don't make me happy.

====

I just realized this 2 weeks ago on Saturday. Kanyon is butt ugly. If he lost the roll around his tights (or got something not so... tight) he would look a hell of a lot better. He looks like Bradshaw before the injury.

Ganguro 10-18-2003 02:23 PM

Spleen i saw that match too..
I was like: "Who betta than...ewww!"
Plus they are having him be a heel? what the hell..

Psivage 10-19-2003 12:47 PM

Hawk is dead.

This sucks, he last run in WWE was a damn joke. He deserved a better run then what happen. Now it is too late.

meanSpleen 10-19-2003 12:58 PM

Crap. And he finally quit drinking and taking drugs too. That bastage...

*cheers* to one half of the greatest TagTeams of all time.

meanSpleen 10-19-2003 06:38 PM

Who betta than...ewww!

NO MERCY RESULTS (and comparasions)

1) Tajiri def. Rey Mysterio
Dang. Well, I'm 0 for 1 right now. Great way to start. And the two guys that got in the ring? New tag team. And from what I hear, they have never wrestled together before. hehehe... But I also hear that they are great technical wrestlers. So I'm looking foward to what they can do. (Jimmy Yang and Keiji Sakada)

2) Benoit def. ATrain.
Please, like we didn't see this one coming.
Score: 1 of 2. YES! FIFTY PERCENT!!!

3) Gowan def. V1 Hardy.
... Dammit. 1 for 3. Moving back down to 33.333333 percent.

4) Bashams def. APA
Remember, I didn't see it, so I have no idea what is actually going on. BUT. Shaniqua has "Permanent Swelling of the Chest" from Bradshaws clothesline from hell!!! HAHAHAHAHAH (boob job)
-also- what the hell... this match wasn't advertised on the website....
Still 1 for 3. because I didn't know about this match.

5) VinnieMac def. StepHHH
Linda threw in the towel...
2 for 4. Back at fifty percent correct

6) Angle def. Cena
Goddangit... I'm happy that Angle wins, but this is seriously making me look bad as a racehorse seer.
2 for 5. 40 percent.

7) BigShmo def. Eddie
WHY ME!?!??! WHY YOU!??!! WHY MUST WE SUFFER THE HELL THAT IS BIG SHOW WITH ANY GOLD!!??!!??
2 for 6. 33.33333333 percent... Oh well.

=====

DownwardSpiral, until next PPV. :)

DownwardSpiral 10-19-2003 07:05 PM

Thank you for posting the results for me Spleen lol. Ok first off, i'll begin with APA vs Bashams. That match was made on Heat before the PPV, so we didnt predict on that, thus it didnt count lol. Now to address my incorrect guesses. Looks to me like the only one I was off on was Zach Gowen vs. Matt Hardy. This is a real bummer considering im a Mattitude Follower as well, Spleen lol. The rest of them I hd right, with the exception of the Basham/APA, because it was impromptu. So, Until the next PPV Spleen, lol.

Prophecy 10-21-2003 01:25 PM

After seeing Raw, I think the best part nxt to Goldberg getting slapped around a few times was when Orton got jumped by Jindrak and Lance Cade. That was funny. On a 2nd note is Batista now back as a part of Evolution?

DownwardSpiral 10-21-2003 01:32 PM

Batista is back with Evolution now I'm pretty sure of it. But on a serious note, have any of you heard the dope rhymes of the Macho Man Randy Savage from his off that hook rap CD? That stuff is the bomb yo! I'm laying on the sarcasm pretty thick here, arent I? But has anyone else heard some of the crap he calls music yet? Lol, it's pathetic.

Ganguro 10-21-2003 02:25 PM

he was on BET the other day..
maan it was bad.. the crowd was dead..
the only pop he got from the kids was when he mentioned Hogan..
Poor Randy..

on a related note.. How are they making Maven part of evolution again?
Have him gain "respect" for Flair, and want to be more like him? that's kinds Randy Orton's job isnt it? Also if Orton is the "legend killer" wouldnt that set him up for the inevitable face turn against Flair when ol' swivelhips gets back?

DownwardSpiral 10-21-2003 02:31 PM

Watch is Ganguro or Savage will kick you in the butt and wash your mouth out with soap! (That was a few lyrics from one of his songs, btw)

Prophecy 10-21-2003 05:06 PM

Randy actually had a rap record? your pulling my leg right? right? God I hope you are...

Mr. Spacemonkey 10-21-2003 05:28 PM

No he's indeed not pulling your leg. I heard that song where he makes fun of Hulk and threatens to "kick him in the butt and wash his mouth out with the soap." Oh dear God, i think that might have been the hardest i've laughed for awhile. Oh man . . . macho man is an idiot.

IF Maven joins Evolution, it will be when the eventual breakup happens. Just like the Nation of Domination, where Rocky out trumped Farooq, Orton will turn against HHH. Thus we'll have the New Blood (thanks Maveric for reminding me ;)) era starting over again. Only Orton, Maven, and probably Batista will be together, probably. Flair will probably be legend killed by Orton somewhere.

Oh yeah, the Macho Man didn't even write his own songs. He had someone else write them. Read the liner notes if you can. (from a third party source) :D
