Medium is well done!
Ok, first of all, sorry for the cheesy title, but the wife laughed when I said it last week, and I knew I would eventually use it as the first thread title for me here.
Anyway, is anyone else watching this quirky ( in a verrrry good way) show? Anyone?

Sorry, Medium is a new show on NBC on Monday nights.Patricia Arquette plays a woman that sees dead people and can sometimes know about people just from touching them.
Sounds kinda tired, but I think it's an intelligently written show.

I am now hooked to this show as well.
It's refreshing to see a different idea presented instead of yet another Law and Order clone. By the way, I didn't know that the show was based on a real person--and she ain't too hard on the eyes either. Here is a LINK to a small "behind the scenes" video clip that includes an interview with the real Allison Dubois. |

I thought this was going to be a thread about steaks... until I saw it was in Entertainment.
I've seen a couple episodes of this series and can't say I love it. While the show is reasonably well done, I just don't think this concept is going to carry the series for very long. The novelty is going to wear off... I find the entire cast to be rather dry in their delivery... not enough variance in their emotional notes... If this series makes it past season one I give it two seasons tops. ...but that might be just me... good thing I'm not a programmer.

I really like this show. Arquette does a fabulous job. The show is different enough to keep me interested for a long time.

I've watched it so far, and enjoy the show's premise. However, there is absolutely no chemistry between Patricia Arquette and Jake Weber, and his character doesn't seem to have any relevance to the show - except to be "the husband." I also find it hard to believe that, being married to her for all these years, he's still so skeptical of her "gift."
Of course, Jake Weber has yet to do anything I've liked, so perhaps that's affecting my opinion. The show is different enough to keep me interested, though. I'll keep watching, for awhile, at least.

I keep giving this show a chance - but so far it remains a bit slow (editing?) and not quite as "edgey" as I like or it could be. I like Patricia Arquette, but feel like she's masking real talent here. Perhaps the lack of chemistry with her and hubby is because they've got kids and have been married a long time. I dunno...

If anyone is stillwatching, I seem to notice a slight change in her gift. She seems to pre-see things now as well. Kind of Sixth sense meets the Dead Zone. Still different than most of the new series out there.

The episode from last night (Feb 22) was well done IMO. It was pretty interesting seeing her interact with her step brother. His use of the gift way so different from hers.
