Corpse Bride

As Tim Burton is my all time favourite director I am of course thrilled that he's making a new movie called Corpse Bride. Unfortunately it won't be shown in theatres until October this year

It's his second animated movie and it's based on a nighttime horror story in 19th century Russia

You can se the trailer here

Looks great doesn't it?

It does look good. I always loved Nightmare Before Christmas (though the scene towards the beginning with the "clown with the tear-away face" creeped me out, and probably would have given me nightmares if I'd been younger) and this looks like a worthy successor.

I absolutely adored the trailer, seeing Johnny Depp in stop-motion was fantastic! As soon as you see his face you know that's Depp. Burton provides some of the most wonderful Art Direction seen in films, can't wait to see Corpse Bride in all it's glory!

Anyone here read 'The Meloncholy Death of Oyster Boy'?

That looks like GOLD. Not to mention the post about it on IMDB:

I am a loyal fan of tim burton's. I like most of his movies, I hate it though how nighmare before christmas somehow got into the Goth crowd. THis movie looks like it will fall into that same group of people who paint their fingernails black.

Give it two months after the movie comes out and their will be fat chicks wearing sweatshirts of this movie and telling everyone how it depicts their life.

Tim Burton is usualy refresh and unique with his work (except for Planet of the apes) i do look at this movie preview and i see the identical twin brother of Nightmare Before Christmas which pisses me off.

Am im the only one offended by having a genius like Tim Burton, and his works being liked for the wrong reasons.

please reply."

Bahaha. Why the apostrophe in goths? And "Nipplecake16"? Amazing.

Weird, Henry Selick isn't involved with this. He directed all the stop motion animation in "The Nightmare Before XMas".

Being a huge Nightmare fan, I'm definately waiting for this one. It should definately be a worthy successor the Nightmare, though I would still love to see a "Nightmare 2" someday.

Hehe yeah

I'm surprised I didn't guess that the lead role/voice would be Johhny Depp considering how often Burton's been using him in his films...

While I am looking forward to the film... I love Tim Burton's sense of style and his choice of character and story are always nicely offbeat... I am worried that like almost all of his films, it will ultimately disappoint me.

For me, all of his films (except Ed Wood) get very dull or flat in the 3rd Act.

This is probably just me though... most of my friends think I'm crazy.

I'm all up for another Tim Burton animated movie. Throw Danny Elfman in the mix too, and I'm completely sold. So it doesn't come out until Halloween, but when can we start buying tickets?

His movies are ok but are tired by the final act. I also prefer ed wood. One or two of his movies i dont see the appeal. Yet this does sound quite interesting.

I always thought his bulging fish eyes have somehow flushed back into his head. Either way...who cares, that dude can write, play, sing and perform.

Definately one of the all time great singer/song writers, imho.

Oh yeah...looking forward to TB Corpse Bride as well

I saw the movie this past week, in a preview showing so here are my quick 2 thoughts on it. First off, the movie is maybe 75 minutes long. Very short! I saw the movie in preview, because I love Tim Burton, and I am a huge fan of the nightmare before christmas, but this movie did not come close to being as good! I would give the movie maybe a B- (or in my personal ratings system, I would add it to netflix but not pay full price to view it).

The movie was cute, and how they make it is amazing, and some of the details are just WOW. But I just would not say this is a movie you have to rush out to see.

Also the people I saw this with, agreed about the movie. Just my opinion.

The wife and I saw it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Better story than I would have hoped for and once again the stop motion was great. In fact there were a few times I was wondering if they threw some CG in there or are just that good.

Also, there is a Harryhausen tribute that i noticed, great touch.

I too am not a huge fan of his work, but I don't think I'd say I hate it. As much as I wish I could, I just can't seem to take it seriously. It's like gumby on acid. Well, gumby on more acid. Maybe I will go see this though, I have matured alot since I last saw nightmare before christmas.
