I don't know about the best ever, but I agree it was a good episode, Derwood
Ian screwed up royally when he picked Tom instead of one of the girls to go with him to the mansion. You gotta keep the gender majority separated as much as you can at this juncture of the game. Has Caryn watched any other Survivor seasons? You don't go off on a tirade at the tribal council, without incurring the wrath of your fellow contestants!

I am so glad that caryn is gone, I couldnt stand her at all. When she went off on that tirade launching accusations at every single person I was so happy that it was assuring her immediate departure.
Ian should have picked Katie for sure, picking Tom was a bad move.

Good bye Caryn, we're all glad you are gone. She did stay true to herself though. Throughout the show, anything was told to her she would blab it to at least one other person.
I agree about Ian's choice, someone explain to me why he picked Tom "because he won a car." I know they have done it a few times where the person they pick gets a car as well, but it's not a precedent. That made no sense to me whatsoever. Pick Katie, it's what Tom wanted you to do, AND you have a major alliance with her when it gets down to 3. This is probably one of my favorite episodes as well. The crying part was fascinating to me. When Ian made her laugh at the end and they hugged, and the overall amount of emotion that was shown, I think there is a MUCH deeper relationship there than what we are seeing. Don't forget people, the finale is this Sunday. Can't wait! |

I wouldnt be suprised if these two end up as a couple after the show. Are they both single?

The "Crying of Ian" seemed like bullshit to me. He was trying to manipulate Katie, and it seemed to work.
I actually have to give credit to Caryn for taking her shot. She was doomed anyway, but I a certainly admire her going to down with both guns blazing, calling out all the lies and bullshit Tom and Ian have been spooning out. I never liked her from the start, but I admire her exit.

Caryn got farther than I thought she ever would, but you'd think she could've used an alliance with Tom to the final three. I guess she was tired of playing. It's funny how the women of Survivor can never stay united enough to vote off all the men.

Well, although the nobility of Ians move touches me, I think he shoulda kept going and kept holding on.
Tom deserved the win, he was extremely dominating all season long and was never in a villain role like Boston Rob was cast. Wow, Katie looked absolutely horrid at the live show, she looks like she's put on a pile of weight, about 5lb's of makeup and the straightened hair. Ugh. I thought she looked FAR FAR better on the island. I thought many of the statements and questions to the players were unfair. I wonder if they realize how assholeish they come across when they watch these episodes with their freinds and family.

I really thought this was a great season... until last night. I think that was the worst final episode in all of survivor history. An Ian/Tom matchup final 2 would have been amazing, and the only reason that it didn't go down that way is that we actually find out Tom is a manipulating prick. And what we all already knew that Katie was a manipulating bitch.
I thought the show was called survivor. Ian must have been playing "I'm a nice guy, but I'm going to let people outwit me in to thinking I'm not, then give up to prove to myself that I am." The guy should have just stayed home, then he wouldn't have had to be seen crying on national TV. Oh, and Katie even getting one vote is a joke, which goes to show you that Coby is crazy. I didn't watch all of the live show, does anyone know what lie he's talking about in regards to Tom? I was a big fan of Tom to until last nights show, the way he talked down to Ian showed how much of a jerk he actually was. I'll congratulate him anyways though for dominating the show. So now I wonder if Ian, after watching all these episodes and seeing that Katie was ready to switch alliances twice, would give up quite as easily. Oh and I think if Tom were a true man of his word, he would have still taken Ian to the final 2. Ian just gave Tom the perfect excuse for kicking him off and guaranteeing himself the million dollars. Most dissapointing episode ever. |

Some good sentiment there folks. I liked your summaries. I think Tom deserved to win, especially over Katie. He was a dominant force. I didn't think he was as big a prick as you all might have. I think he just played the game fair.
I am glad that Katie didn't even come close to winning. One thing I noticed though, was that Katie did the exact same thing that Amber did last season. She sat around on her little throne beside king Rob, stayed below the radar, and eventually won. The difference this time around was that Katie was villified for being lazy and useless. I argue that Amber was lazy and useless. She did nothing. The difference was Amber had protection, she let Rob do all the dirty work. Katie was a real bitch and she couldn't even hide it at the final tribal council. She coudn't articulate very well. I thought Toms answer as to why he shouldn't win tonight (Ian's question, I think) was the icing on the cake. It was beautifully prepared. On a side note, I don't think any of the girls looked better with make up than they did on Palau. Stephanie was so smoking hot all season, and as soon as she got voted off and she got hold of her Maybeline, she covered up all her natural beauty. Mention was already made of how Katie's looks got uglied down once she got back to civilization. Coby did look better and so did Tom without the beards...

now see....I think this was my favorite final episode of them all. I got such a big kick out of Katie being such a bitch when they were asking their final questions.
I think Ian was an idiot, it reminded me of Australia when Colby could have not picked tina an assured himself a win, yet he didnt. Ian making Tom take Katie was absurd but I loved watching it. I was never a big Tom fan, I wanted stephanie to win but Im sure as hell glad he won over Katie

I'll agree with you on Katie's jury answers. Not that she was going to win, but she really self destructed. The best was her answer to Janu. "I know I'm not going to get your vote, so I won't even answer your question." I kind of think she just didn't know what an adjective was...
I also totally agree about the Colby/Ian comparison. Although I'm still giving Colby the biggest moron in Survivor award. |

Man I sure hope Ian got some from Katie (shudder) , because his little "pscho chivalry" bit cost him 1,000,000 smackers.

You know, I was totally expecting Ian and Katie to end up as a couple off-screen. They seemed to have a real connection that I think was very real, I was suprised it wasnt brought up. Maybe once the show ended she put on her makeup and he bolted.
