I Love the '00s
So, I'm sitting here watching VH1s I Love the 90s, and thinking, some of this stuff wasn't all that long ago, and it was really quite shocking or even noteworthy when it occured, must have been to make VH1's list. One of their crowning moments was the movie The Crying Game... (I think this movie gave some guys I knew nightmares for weeks)
Anyhow... the point of my topic... The year is now 2020... where has the time gone... and playing on your 75 inch digital television that you picked up at a yardsale for 15 dollars is VH1 I love the 2000's. What are some of the things from the past five years that will be fodder for them to make fun of.

You think it will take them 'til 2020? January 2010 won't even be halfway over before the production folks start in on it, not that we'll see it before 2012.
The RIAA lawsuits. I-Pods Michael Jackson Arrested Virgin Mary with Cheese (or, perhaps, the E-Bay fad items of 2003, with Cato Kaelin). Outkast Michael Moore Swift Boat Veterans for Bush

Well, if you're going to have Lord of the Rings in there, Star Wars: The Prequels definitely deserve a place. The IPod and it's masses of peripherals. Reality TV Transforming your car like on "Pimp My Ride"

The rash of reality TV.
The explosion of internet users(wasn't that long ago that a lot of people didn't have internet access) Adult Swim on Cartoon Network The cell phone craze(text messaging and camera phones) Lost The Apprentice The rise and fall of the teen queens like Brit(I mean you guys just gotta know she's going to be a has been by 2007) Eminem The constant "outing" of cartoon characters by religious groups. The PS2 and X-box war and the deaths of the granddaddy game makers like Sega and Nintendo The introduction of hybrid cars like the Prius and the Ford Escape Michael Jackson getting sent to jail(it's gonna happen folks) Geek "chic" The revival of the 70s style and fashion. The New England Patriots. The Boston Red Sox winning the championship. The Kobe rape trial. Freedom Fries Fahrenheit 9/11 Hmmmm looks like I need to submit an application to VH1 so I can get a producer spot on that show. |

What about video games? HALO 2! What else has been as big as HALO 2?
Oh! Something that will DEFINITELY make it into the show will be Episode III. It's so big you don't even have to say the title, just Episode III. See? I'm sure a lot of you know what I'm talking about! I might even camp this one, since it is THE one.

those hosts are getting kind of annoying. (not so much the ex-daily show-ers.)
they should make the 00's clip show about all the dumb things featured in these clip shows. playing with a stuffed dog on camera when they talk about scooby doo or something...now that's entertainment. and that black haired guy with 3 names doesn't seem to have any other job. |
