Knowing Hollywood and its record of movies made on game licenses, it'll probably suck. And I'll still go see it. Yeah, I'm a sucker. Can anyone say AvP? I knew you could.

Orginally it was set to star "The Rock." Then that got scrapped for some reason, maybe he's going to make Walking Tall II or something.

I also hear they are departing from the orginal script by removing the "Hell" element from the movie. Presumably they don't want to offend the Ned Flanders of the world (who won't be seeing the movie anyway).

So yeah, CT is right, it'll suck...old school style.

Yup, last I heard it won't involve Hell, nor will it be set on Mars. But they plan to make use of "first person perspective" shots.

So yea, not much to look forward to, as far as I can see.

A movie adaptation of Doom without hell!?

That's crazy. That would be like a movie adaptation of His Dark Materials without the anti-religious sentiment!

Oh....yeah....wait.

*sighhhhh*

That is ridiculous; do any videogame movies even follow the games storyline anymore? Don't they realize that it is the story which made the game so immersive and fun (not specifically Doom, but in general). This is taking the route of Resident Evil, it seems that they just don't learn their lessons with all the garbage released lately that had NOTHING to do with the games, except maybe content (i.e. Resident Evil, House of the Dead)....this, I’m not looking forward to in the least.

I hope hope there is a lot of action, because that will be its only saving grace.

It's gonna be just like Resident Evil, or every other zombie film.

That angers me.

the only actor i could reasonably fit into the doom main character role would be Bruce Willis, hes not super buff, but he looks like a low down rugged tough sombitch (diehards, last man standing?). as for the demons not being from hell, eh wheres the movie going to take place? on earths moon instead of mars? with little southpark type aliens being the evil?
they might as well just call the movie "Not another crappy movie?"

Is Uwe Boll directing it? If so, it'll suck. If not, it'll suck slightly less.

A Doom movie?

Sheesh. Considering the game sucked, the movie can only be worse.

Well, c'mon now. Doom was an excellent game. Now, if you meant Doom 3, that's a different story. But from all descriptions I've read, the movie will have little to do with the game anyway.

You guys should know by now that it is not the content that sells these types of movies, it is the brand name. They won't waste money on a bunch of big name, big paycheck actors. They will make cut after cut unitl it is PG-13, and thousands of kids will flock to it on the power of the name alone. It does not matter if it sucks, because by the time that the suckage is confirmed, they have made their money and are already on to the next big name. And then they will make a killing again, because, like all popular theatre movies, the rental stores will buy a hundred copies a piece from the distributors, so that they can guarantee it in stock and make sure everyone on the planet who didn't suffer through it in the theatre will suffer through it at home and make them a huge profit. It is a viscious circle, and one that is not likely to end as long as enough people are willing to pay even one cent for this utter garbage.

Ok Ok Ok... I have heard it all now. Whats next.... after 3 Doom movies will "THEY" make a pre-quel called Wolfenstien?... or Wolfenstien 3D?

And by the way I know this will sound a little like I am flip-flopping... but I liked the Resident Evil movie... the second one... can you say Mila Jojovic... ummmmm.... damn I left her off my top 3 list...

This just in, Half Life movie is in production, early reports suggests the film will take place on an alternate reality and star the cast of the 90's sitcom 'Dinosaur's'. Gordon Freeman won't make an appearance as a character but his face will be on a studly calendar's in the token black guys dorm room.

Quote from director Uwe Boll "I've always been a fan of the Half-Life mythos, with my script and hugely succesfull history I'll bring to the fans exactly what they want, an unaltered plot of the Half-Life saga in an entertaining and thought provoking film event of the year. I also have a small dick."

Coming 2006.

I don't know, it might not suck (sarcasm). I just got done playing Doom3 and it was awsome, gameplay could have ben beter, but graphics and sound actually made up for it just fine.
