Good-Bye, Mr. Bond
All this week, Spike TV has run a James Bond marathon showing four or five bond movies a day. And I really enjoyed getting reacquainted with the super spy guy. Here’s a recap of what I learned
Sean Connery is the best Bond. The man himself, the A-number one 007. No other Bonds can touch him in style or stature. Favorite Bond movies with Connery… 1.‘Goldfinger’ The whole concept of the movie was inspired. 2.‘Diamonds are Forever’ Because of the gay assassins that took their job in stride 3.‘You Only Live Twice’ mainly because I have a soft spot for Asian women. But also because of ‘Little Nellie’ the ultimate in bond gadgets. Favorite bad guy Goldfinger. If not for his style. It would because of all the gad guys. He was the only one that was ready to put a bullet in 007 at the drop of a hat. No posturing. No boosting, No great scheme, Just a bullet and be done with it. Only 007’s bluff saved him. But his plan to break in, but not rob Fort Knox but to radiate it to increase the value of his gold was shear ingenious writing on Flemmings part. Favorite bad guy quote “Bond” Do you expect me to talk? “Goldfinger” No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die. Favorite gadget Little Nellie -The mini gyro copter. Favorite bond girl Kissy Suzuki – Mai Hama Favorite car The Aston-Martin Favorite Bond Quote “Vodka martini, Shaken not stirred” Roger Moore. The second of the Bonds. I feel he took the character and gave him a sense of humor. Sort of took the steam out of the stuffed shirt that Connery had. Favorite Movies 1.“For Your Eyes Only”. It was the only movie where Bond didn’t win. 2.“View to a Kill” Christopher Walken as a bad guy? Get outta here 3.“Moonraker” If for no other reason. Because Jaws gets laid. And if he can. There’s hope for anybody. Favorite bad guy Christopher Walken as Max Zorin. Because he was just plain devise and evil. Yeah, let’s destroy a part of California to increase my own business holdings. Talk about a go getter attitude. Favorite bad guy quote “Bond” They will send someone to replace me’ “Zorin” Let us hope he will be more competent then you were. Favorite gadget The laser watch Favorite Bond girl Melina Havelock - Carole Bouquet Favorite car The Lotus. The one that turned into a sub Favorite Bond Quote “Well. You put on your clothes, and I’ll buy you an Ice Cream” Pierce Brosnan – The fifth person to hold the title of the super spy. I’ve liked this guy since Remington Steele. And though he was a perfect choice to wield the Walther's PPK. It was only because of a contract that he didn’t take the mantel sooner. Which might be a good thing. Because the movies he would have done. Pretty much blew. Favorite movies 1.Die Another Day – Halle Berry (growl) Not to mention it’s almost the exact story line of “Diamonds or Forever”. 2.Tomorrow Never Dies – kind of gives you an idea of just how evil the media is. 3.The World is Not enough – Not really one of my favorite. But I like the over all planning of the bad guys. But sadly it’s when we say goodbye to Q. and say hello to the new Q, John Cleese. A perfect choice in my book Favorite bad guy Stamper - Götz Otto (Let’s torture somebody and see how long we can keep them alive, Now that’s evil Favorite bad guy quote Elliot Carver “ Tell the president that if he doesn’t pass the bill. We will release the pictures of him and the cheerleader. And when he does pass it. Release them anyway” Favorite gadget The X-Ray sunglasses – See what the other person is or is not wearing. Plus they look really good. Favorite Bond girl Natalya Simonova - Izabella Scorupco Favorite car BMW Z3 roadster Favorite Bond Quote That's what keeps me alive. I'm going to miss the bondathon. I liked that I could turn it on. And watch Bond for a few. Hopefully they well do it again. and soon

The only reason GoldenEye isn't on my favorite list is that I like the plot of 'The World is Not Enough' over it.

Find more about our favorite gentelman/spy on "Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang: the Official James Bond Thread" (http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthread.php?t=73837). I try to keep up-to-date info and good conversations on Bond going there.

The best Bond quote ever was in Never Say Never Again
With the nurse across the room and Bond on the exam table... Nurse: Mr. Bond, I need a urine sample. If you could fill this beaker for me? James Bond: From here?

Favorite movies:
For Your Eyes Only, loved the ski chase scenes. Never Say Never Again, big holographic video game that shocks you when you lose? Awesome. Man with the Golden Gun, I have dreams about video game levels designed like the arena Hervé Villechaize had set up on the island. Last edited by FngKestrel; 01-01-2005 at 07:01 PM.. |

you would think after so many movies that the bad guys would know to just kill him straight up the first time they see him instead of setting up elaborate ways for him to die - when will they learn?
