I have to admit I love this guy's SF novels.

99% of what I read is non-fiction, but I'm a sucker for this guy's books. Recently when browsing a local bookshop I saw his latest novel The Algebraist and snapped it up immediately.

Has anyone else here read it? What did you think?

I don't believe it's up to his usual standards. I liked it, but there was just something about it that annoyed me. Possibly the rather two dimensional gas giant Dwellers who, for all the world, were portrayed as some kind of British upper-class twits. WTF?

Anyway, it was a good story. What did others think?
