The OC, the unashamed view

Tried to search for a thread on The OC, but the search engine said no matches because it threw out the following common search terms. The, OC,

I'm an upper 20's guy that is unashamed to watch this show. It is very entertaining. So what do people think? I for one love some of the latest changes, and don't like others.

Ryan starting to date the sister of the mother of the house that he is living at, Nice... Plus she's pretty cute.
Marissa, dating the lawn boy. Lame, and what's the deal with the handhold with the new club chick, will she end up being a lesbian?? Oh and the club chick is hot too.
Seth, by far the best part of the show. I laugh the whole time at that guy. He needs to hook up with Summer again, because Summer's new love is an idiot.
Kirsten's dad Caleb cheated on her mom and has been hiding a sibling for 16 years. Sandy is trying to keep him out of jail. And Caleb's wife Julie, is commiting adultery with her old husband Jimmy.

I mean c'mon how could this not be one of the great shows of the year

Yes, it is awesome. I love the OC and I don't care if it's technically a teen soap opera, damn it!

I'd say almost too many beautiful people to be on one show. I mean the teens are usually hot, but even the mothers are gorgeous! Oh, hi honey... *changes channel*

What are you talking about. Get your "honey" to sit down and watch with you. If anything, my wife is a bigger fan than I am.

Reminds me a little of the good old days of 90210

More OC threads... they are kinda hard to search for (For the first one I just scrolled through the current threads, for the other 3 I searched for Seth and Summer in Tilted Entertainment)

As far as I remember, 90210 was a lot less funny than the OC.

This is a great show. My husband and I have been watching since it started, and we don't miss an episode.
Thanks, Locke7, for starting this thread....

you know the best part of this show (when it's really good) is that it constantly makes fun of itself 90210 didn't do that (probalby cause it startedf the genre -- it took 10 years to build up irony ).

I love this show although living in the UK we are quite far behind the US. I have had to turn to downloading the episodes from the internet when available. That said I own the season 1 box set and will be buying the 2nd season when that is available as it is the kind of thing I could happily watch again.

My wife and I love this show, and we've never missed an episode. The obscure references from Seth are highly entertaining, and you almost need to tape it to make sure you don't miss any of them. It reminds me a little bit of the writing on Gilmore Girls (in my opinion, the single finest program on TV today), and it's ironic that the actor who played Seth came to the O.C. from Gilmore Girls.

www.televisionwithoutpity.com is your best friend for recaps. It usually takes a few days for the recaps to go up for shows though...

I end up working in the evening when most of the shows I want to watch show their new episodes. So, I use it pretty much every week to catch up on the ones I miss.

OK, new episode coming up this week. I saw the preview a few times over the past couple of days and it looks very interesting... This is all speculation, but some stuff is going down. Looks like Marissa is found out that her dad and mom are having an affair with each other (Marissa's mom is married to Caleb now). So Jimmy (Marissa's dad) is leaving town? I don't know...

I don't think Caleb will end up doing time in jail for the payments he is making to the mother of the child that he was a part of. But this can't work out well for the relationship between Ryan and Lindsay.

Could Ryan end up dating Seth's aunt? Should be interesting. Can't wait for the next episode

Funniest line from last night's episode was when Summer saw Seth and said "Eww, your breath smells like Marrisa, your so drunk!"

Decent show last night, kinda sappy, but Seth drunk was worth it.

The really funniest line came when Ryan told Seth about throwing up at the party. Seth said, "Vomit? How much vomit? Like the little girl in 'Sixth Sense' or the fat guy in Monty Python?"

The little girl in "Sixth Sense"..........

Seeing that this thread has been dead for awhile, I'm guessing nobody watches this show anymore, and I'm about to become one of them. I loved this show in it's first season, it was well written, it was all about young teens growing up in a rich society and the problems that arise from it.. It wasn't mind altering plot lines, but it was fun to watch. This season, the network decided to put the show on Thursday night to compete with the other networks and look what has happened. Cliché plot lines with lesbians, and the parents now in a 3 person love triangle. This is not what this show was about, and it sucks! Is there anyone else out there who used to like this show and now see's it as crap like I do?

While Survivor is off the airwaves, my Thursday night TV agenda has adopted the O.C. and I must say it only took me about 1 episode to get hooked. The girls are so hot to start with, and then to put the icing on the cake, THEY THROW IN A LESBIAN PLOTLINE WITH MISCHA BARTON! Sweet mother of pearl.
And they know how to keep the viewer hanging on, dont' they? I mean, I've been waiting for a lesbo kiss for about 3 episodes now. And the Summer/Seth thing is pretty cool too.

So what the heck has happened to Kirstey Alley? Oh wait, that was Kim Delaney?? Holy Fat Camp, Batman.
