Batman Begins Trailer

Ok, I really wasn't looking forward to the movie until I saw this trailer. It seems the Batman franchise has gone back to its dark roots....

Just saw the trailer before Ocean's 12 on Monday. Looks great!

I don't see how anyone could have NOT been looking forward to this one. Christopher Nolan directed it and Christian Bale stars and they've been talking about how dark this one would be for a while.

I have to say when I first heard about this movie I was skeptical. The photo stills on the website of the Batmobile made me think "wtf". However I also haven't read the comics that the story and the Batmobile are supposedly based off of. After seeing the trailer and reading the preview in Game Informer for the upcoming game based off the movie I have to say I am extremely excited for this movie. Trailer was awesome!

If you are new to the real batman, I suggest reading the "Legends of the Dark Knight" graphic novels. They will give you an idea of what batman is supposed to be in this movie. Deeply distrubed from remorse and regret about his parents, arguabally driven to the brink of madness, he is part antisocial, part dissasociative disorder, part bipolar, etc. It gives a very fresh (back in the 80s) look and feel to batman, serving to break the ties between batman from the old tv series type and from today.

I am praying that "That Batmobile" is going to one of a few that he has in the movie, much like the batboat, or bathang-glider, and that being the ATB all terran batmobile.

I agree with all of the people who hate the batmobile, but to me this is another example of how far the designers were willing to go to prove this movie won't be like the other neon-Las Vegas-raver crap that was made before it.

The scenes with Bruce Wayne making the Batsuit on his own really drives it home. It says many things about the man at one time...He's intelligent, driven, and has inner demons. I always wondered how he could keep his identity a secret if he had all his equipment outsourced....

Oh, and Gary Oldman rocks.

Well, personally, I liked the two Tim Burton Directed... But the others left something to be desired... Like acting, quality and decent script-writing...

A throwback to the original movie - and that is nothing if not good! Think we'll see Bale in that upside-down hanger contraption that Keaton was sleeping in back in the original?

Sweet...and they got that dude from 28 days later playing the Scarecrow??!! I can't wait to see what he's gonna look like...Scarecrow is one of my fave lookin villians in Batman. How many a ya'll liked the cartoon "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" ??? I for one thought it was pretty cool I thought Phantasm kicked ass would be cool to see that in movie format as well. But then again...I was still rather young when I saw it so that could be why I thought it was cool..I still thought most cartoons were cool back then heh.

This may be blasphemy but I really didn't care for any of the Batman movies to this point. That said, I'm looking forward to Batman Begins...I suspect Christopher Nolan won't give us anything less than 110%.

I think we all agree that the first 2 were good (well, the first one definitely; and Michelle did make a good catwoman). I just hope that this movie goes back to what made Batman so intriguing - the darkness and his ability to appear out of the shadows. I hated all of the colors in those crappy sequels. I want fog; black nights; long, over-exagerated shadows; and no f@#king sun!!! Give me that with a kickass Batman and we have a movie.

I actually think that the recent Batman movies were pretty good (Batman & Robin, Batman Forever). If you dont come into it thinking its going to be the best superhero movie of all time you'll leave liking it better.

Happy post:

The trailer looks badass. Christian Bale, Good. Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman, even better. It does look darker, which is the way it should be. Batman is a little fucked up in the head, just like you would expect anyone who watched their parents die right in front of them at a young age to be. Excited I am.

Angry post:

If it weren't for Michael Keaton I would denounce both the first two Batman movies as the biggest silver-screen dissapointments I've ever seen in my life. Tim Burton was a horrible choice for those films. I won't even dignify the other two by mentioning them further.
