Hitchhiker's Guide
Is nobody else excited about this movie? The story: awesome. The casting: ditto. I mean, Mos Def as Ford Prefect. If it's done right (unlike a certain BBC production of it...) it has all the makings of a really good movie. I'm really curious about how far they're going to take the movie. There're 5 books in the trilogy, assuming one doesn't count "Young Zaphod Plays it Safe," and I don't see many places for it to end except the end of the series. And if it goes that far, it's going to be a loooong movie. Unless, of course, they're planning sequels, and IMDB has nothing on that.
What're y'all's thoughts on this? |

if its done well it will be good but i am a big fan of the book and i am yet to see a really good movie that was based on a book. too much is missed, no matter what they say.

yes I agree. I'm not getting my hopes up, but it would be nice. I also hope that they don't try and make the story a little more sensical...it's supposed to be nonsense.

I just hope the movie keeps the same quirky/funny thing going that the books did!

When I first saw the preview I nearly pissed my pants. I can't wait for this movie to come out. It can't be any worse than the BBC version. I can't wait to see how they manage Zaphod's two heads, Marvin, or many of the scenes.

I think the movie will be amazing, anything that is HGTTG is amazing where from where i'm standing. Besides, it can't be any worse than the TV series. |

It's just a shame that Adams had to die before they made it. Makes me wonder if Hollywood was trying to do terrible things to it and only his presence prevented them. Now that he's gone they might just run over the whole thing and make it into a kiddie film.
But the trailer does provide some hope.

The TV series was brilliant! It was very low budget and excellent in only the way a BBC series can be... Think Doctor Who.
Has anyone heard the original radio plays? They were brilliant as well.

Ah yes, the Increasingly Inaccurately Named Trilogy that is the Hitchiker's Guide to the Universe. I have a bad feeling that the movie is going to suck. Too much to try and live up to. I'll go seee it, of course, but I have had my hopes crushed before (damn you Lucas!).
