Spoiler: Get this: You guys know all about the Great Four Alliance that included the Asgards, Ancient, Nox and the Furlings. It was mentioned on another Stargate based website that the Furlings will be revealed in the tenth season and will be related to the eventual defeat of the Ori. Just as the Ancients help defeat the Goa'uld and Tau'ri helping Asgard defeat the replicators

I absolutely love how O'Neill has concluded that the Furlings must be cute and cuddly creatures like the Ewoks

I'm not liking season 9. It just doesn't click like it used to. I do like atlantis though.

hmmph. I have a tough time justifying the cost of the cable that I do subscribe to. I managed to get Discovery chanel after "discovering" it on my trip out east (hotel rooms have all the cable!)

and in the process have discovered the wonders of Showcase! (television without borders). But that's it. $40 is enough topay for cable.

I'm waiting for the new season to hurry up and get its ass here, reading the stuff coming out of gateworld just makes it worse!

first post here, I'm a huge fan of the stargate series, nowadays I just DL the episodes instead of watching them on tv.

Is that illegal? I sort of see it as since i'm paying for the episodes anyways, I may as well keep them around.

anyways I'm loving season 9. There just wasn't much more for the original 4 to do without becoming totally bland and fading away. The introduction of Ben Browder has been great, I loved how they incorporated him in the new episodes through humour.

The interrelation between atlantis and SG1 has been hard to get used to. I'll probably have to go through the two series together once the atlantis episodes finish downloading to get a full picture of the plot. Too much "solution in the other series" stuff going on in my opinion. Muddles the independence of both shows.

Atlantis has been picked up by City-TV (regular cable) and I've been enjoying the season so far. I believe it is the first season. I think that the character development has been great. I really really like the interplay between Sheppard and McKay. McKay is without a doubt the most interesting character. I love his impatient sarcasm, and constant banter between him and the rest of the team (Sheppard: "don't tell McKay that I said that about hockey. He's Canadian, they're touchy about that"). I can see Richard Dean Anderson's touch in this.

What I don't get are the shoulder patches of the different 'origin' countries of the team. At first they were quite evident, while in later episodes, they seem to be cgi'd out leaving colour matched rectangles on the spots. What gives? Did some network execute get complaints about too much "un-Americanism"?

At any rate, I am tryly enjoying the series, and would love to hear the back story to the Wraith, their origin, and reason for their conquest of humans.

Is everyone ready for tonight? Popcorn/pizza ready? Phones unplugged? Remots handy?

Well it was a marked improvement over both of the show's last seasons. I will now be watching both for he rest of the season. Also, thanks again to Atlantis for bringing back Trip from the ashes of Enterprise.

Stargate SG-1Spoiler: Well that's odd, a little girl/demigodess who is part Ori, and part conservative pundit. I was waiting for Hanity to chime in about how te Ori administration has defended the galaxy from terrorism. Everyone is still alive, though Te'alc was routinely tortured (how much can this guy take?), Daniel rung off the People's Deadulus, Carter flated for a bit, and Crichton...er I mean Mitchell got to one of the fighters, and Jack is still retired (D'oh!). The Ori are still invincable, although their shields and sensors were a bit dissapointing letting Daniel through. At the end of the episode, I was left with a feeling of anxoius anticipation. 4 out of 6 stargates

Stargate Atlantis: Spoiler: WOW!!! I couldn't stand last season - though I watched it anyway - but this season is really showing substantial improvement. I can now see a link in the qualities between the gate-shows. Although I was initially pissed at the destruction of the Orion, I got over it when I realized that we get to have a hive ship all for ourselves. I was also very excited to see that Connor Trinneer, aka Michael, aka Trip from Enterprise, is back and on the winning team (if only for a moment). I was pleasently surprised by this show, which is no longer on my long list of "sci fi shows that threw away great potential in favor of tired sci fi cliches". Welcome to me "momentarily vindicated sci fi series" list. 4 out of six gates.

I was bummed that we lost the Orion. Barely got to explore that. They didn't seem to care at all. As far as the hive ship. . . way too tidy the way that they have totally gotten rid of just about every story line from last season. It is like they got all new writers who wanted nothing to do with last season's stuff. Not happy about that.

SG1 - Last week was . . . crappy. I think it was an isolated incident. . .

Mondak, agreed. The Orion was simply too good to be true. Atlantis will take a great concept and ruin it. Having a real Ancient warship functioning and with squiddies was a great concept. They had a ship that should have been able to take out several hive ships at once (remember that the Ancients were technologically advanced compared to the Wraith, but they were simply greatly outnumbered). It was destroyed by two hive ships even with the assistence of the Daedalus. Ugh.

Then we have last week....the replicators are a great enemy!!! Leave it to Atlantis to muck it up. If they had any balls whatsoever, they would have let the Benedict Arnold replicator survive and assist Atlantis against the wraith. That would have kicked ass, but it's too creative for Atlantis. I'm starting to think that the collective creativity of the network is funneled into Battlestar and Battlestar alone.

This week loos like it is going to be really funny for SG1, but who knows?

I am okay with all creative energy being funneled to BSG BTW will.

...and yeah it is disappointing, but the series had a good run.

I stand corrected, but i've just got back from holiday, so i'm still out of the loop per se.

Ok so I have to vent here.

If those "Ancients" turn out to be replicators, I am going to freak the hell out. I mean what - didn't anyone even think to ask, "are you guys replicators?" at any point? I mean what is the hurt in asking. It is like - "hey - funny thing here, we ran into some replicators a couple weeks ago and they looked like and claimed to be Ancients. YOU guys don't HAPPEN to be freaking replicators do you???"

Nah - lets just hand over our city without even having the thought cross our mind. I mean are there only four story lines that they have these days? Which four you ask:

1. Rodney freaks out on someone who suggests he could be wrong and ignores their warning. Instead the entire Universe may colapse due to forgetting to carry the one in a calcualtion . . .

2. Kirk Effs the green girl

3. WE'RE UNDER ATTACK FROM THE WRAITH AND WE DON"T HAVE ENOUGH POWER

4. It wasn't just a dream / costume / ancient / etc. It is just replicators up to their old tricks again.

I pray to all that is holy that those are / were real ancients that they handed the city to. If not - I think I am off the sauce.

Oh yeah - I know that was the season finale for SG1, but was it also the finale to Atlantis?

I was thinking the exact same thing. Atlantis is useless.

On the up side, General O'Neil has the Ancient gene so he can't be killed by the Pegasus replicators. If O'Niel died, heads would roll.

So who thinks the Ori are going to win?

I was thinking the same thing Mondak. And if they are real ancients I don't see how they should get their place back...its no longer their place if they've been gone 10,000 years.

I really doubt the ori will win. I think daniel will regain some of his ascended powers and use the sangral (sp?) to take em out.

Also, in the sg1 ep. did anyone else wonder why they wouldn't kill off the Ori leader chick? It would be the perfect time to take her out when she doesn't have her powers, all she has is that shield. All they'd have to do is have teal'c pick her up and throw her off into that chasm.

It'll probably be the Merlin weapon. *yawn*

Tortured? No I meant in the most recent episode, she was deviod of ori powers in that place (because of the ancients I guess) and teal'c wasnt being tortured, he was standing right next to em. (In the chasm with the dragon).
I get why they dont kill her off story/tv wise but I meant the actual characters of sg1. Early on they even all agreed that they'd try to find a way to take her out fist, before she could get the weapon and kill them. Then daniel figures out she doesnt have any powers, he should have pushed her off right then (and he's even shown his willingness to kill her even as a child in an earlier episode) but he doesn't, he grabs for the sangral which turns out to be a halogram and triggers the dragon instead.

I know, I was kidding.

That being said - Zeraph the chic was still hella strong wasn't she? I mean that gate with the kid behind it slid right up when she helped. As far as being the good guys, they did try to shoot her and all (then they found out she had that convienient sheild. It is crap that that worked and everything else did not. Totally weak.

We left one of the basic story lines out Mondak:

Look! We finally have some technology that will give us an advantage! But there's a catch..../ BOOM.

The catch is usually something that is Rodney's fault though so that is where I put that one. They all lick Rodney's balls for saving them, but they never beat his ass for effing things up in the first place.

Speaking of: where did this fear of citrus come from? Has there been previous instances of this? How does Kirk fit that in his skin tight uniform without having a big lemon shaped bulge that would give it away?

Not sure how many people have heard of this, but Atlantis has been axed :(. However at least they know now and they're allowed to carry out the rest of the season. On a better note though, the new Stargate series, titled Universe, has been given the green light and is expected to premiere in early 2009 with a 2-hour movie.

Gah. I'll admit that I'm not the biggest Atlantis fan, but the writing has been picking up, culminating in Friday's episode which was a brilliant adaptation of the themes present in sci-fi classics like Flowers for Algernon. It was damned good TV.

The same thing happened with Enterprise: as soon as the writing takes a huge turn for the better, it gets canceled.

Universe sounds too much like Voyager. Hopefully it will get better writing.

I can usually let the writing slide during anything Stargate. I'll admit I'm kind of biased towards it a little since I love it so much, but its not atrocious. I just love the humor that's always so present in anything Stargate, mixed with the formula for the show. Just makes for a good hour of tv :)

While Universe sounds OK, I just don't understand why Atlantis was canceled. It seemed to be doing fine...sigh. I'm not absolutely in love with the show, but the Stargate shows are sentimental favorites and I'm kinda depressed to see Atlantis end.

P.S. Rodney McKay is the best character in either Stargate show and I'm very much going to miss him.

Of course, because they need more room for extra episodes of Ghost Hunters, Scare Tactics, and reruns of all the other shows that they have canceled.

I can't stand Ghost Hunters. Not once, in two series spanning several seasons, have they provided any verifiable evidence. Why do people watch it?

Maybe SciFi is dumping all it's $$ into BSG?

Rodney McKay is my Canadian hero. Really he is the only reason I've kept watching, and the thing I will miss about SGA.

Atlantis has been on Space for at least 3 seasons now.

Anybody heard anything about SGA's replacement series, Stargate: Universe?

SGA is ending the first part of January '09, then a two hour series premiere plays a little bit later.
